The league leaders in Spain England Italy and Germany are all in the EL. Never rated the CL anyway

That’s just great. Exactly what we need. Should be thankful that Inter shit the bed bigly, but there’s still also Leicester, United and Villarreal

Benfica are decent in attack and absolute garbage at the back. Should be going through, depends on who's managing us by then I guess

Yeah, the fans are absolutely livid with how their two PL veteran signings at the back, Otamendi and Vertonghen, have played so far.

The EL theme tune is growing on me too.

CL is too corporate these days

Some interesting results this round so far.

Ajax beat Lille away, Granada beat Napoli 2-0 at home, Villareal (under Cups King Unai Emery) beat Salzburg 2-0 away, and Rangers won away. Providing we beat Benfica (not a given by any means) a trip to Glasgow would be fun wouldn't it?!

And Man Utd should be favourites for the tournament. In which round can teams draw clubs from their own country? Is it the next one?

We should want United in the next round. So we can get them out of the way.
Arteta knows Ole. I don’t want to face United in a final and lose 4-0

No way, let someone else get them out of the way, Villareal maybe? Emery owes us one. Give us the easiest draw possible.

I don't want us playing any English clubs if we can help it.

Did Real Sociedad really just miss a pen against United? How lucky do these fuckers get?

Slavia Prague go one nill up against Leicester

Man they are 4-0 up from first leg - didn’t matter if Real Sociedad scored from that pen or not

No idea why Ole is playing Bruno in this game.

Football is a brutal sport these days.

Away goal as well, good stuff.

Leicester going out tonight would be a massive bonus.

Brilliant. Hopefully United and Tottenham go out in the next round.

2-0, they're done.

I don't remember Slavia Prague being this good.

Yep, they will be shell shocked with little recovery time for Sunday (will counter the fact we have to travel 4 hours).

You don't remember the great fight they put up this day?

When is Europa League draw? Can’t believe we are getting excited for this tournament but it is what it is.

If Leicester go out, apparently this is the 5th time Rodgers has gone out of last 32 stage....

Midday tomorrow.

Haha, I had that game recorded on my Sky box for ages, lots of fun.

Slavia have a decent setup and a good crop of players coming through.

Both Soucek/Coufal who have been very good for West Ham came from there.

Added note - Sima, the goal scorer, has been linked with a move to Hammers too and apparently was very close to joining in January.

PSV concede a late goal so the nightmare draw is still on for tomorrow.

Last 16:

Ajax
Arsenal
Granada
Rangers
Shakhtar Donetsk
Molde
Young Boys
Dynamo Kyiv
Dinamo Zagreb
Slavia Prague
Manchester United
AC Milan
Olympiakos
AS Roma
Tottenham

Just avoid the English sides and give us someone who will allow us to play at home, that's all I ask.

Man Utd and Milan favourites imo.

Lille out is probably good for us too, they're leading that garbage league.

I'd love a bar fight-like two legged tie against Spurs, and to eviscerate them. However between Kane, Son, Bale, Lamela and Alli you have the worst ensemble of con artists in recent memory.

We got spurs in the league after the first leg....

I'd take Ajax. Good size and history of the club that will give the fixture a bit of shine, but still a team that we should beat comfortably. Amsterdam means it's a short away trip too.

I nominated Leicester as the best side left in the comp last week. DO you think it would work again if I nominate Man Utd now?

Not now that you've admitted the jinx.

I'd take Molde. Boring tie against a team we've already faced this year, but we beat team 7-1 on aggregate in the group stages with our B team. We've got Leicester, Spurs and West Ham coming up in the league in the next month, we'll need a breather mentally and physically so we can go full pelt from April.

No, I agree, but I figured these things only work once anyway...  ;D

we'll draw spurs this round or next. I welcome the chance to loosen a few more rivets on project jose

We'll be hit by Granada

wow just saw Slavia's goals. Both so good.

how the feck did Molde go thru

Weren’t they beautiful? The kid Sima seems decent.

Don’t know if I mentioned Jordan Lukaku, Romelu’s younger brother. He is at Antwerp. They lost 5-2 to Rangers but he stood out for me in that game. He’s a strong athletic left back. Berry sprinty and powerful. I’d love him as relief for Tierney. I’m sure he’d be cheap.

You mentioned him just yesterday. 😆

Didn't know he was at Antwerp, always used him on Fifa when at Lazio.

Saw him played for quite abit when he was at Lazio. Brainless player, bad defender.
