Good stuff getting him signed up, now need to keep pushing in this window for 2/3 more players and get rid of some more! No point signing him up to an expensive deal and not going for it.

What's really impressed me in the last few months is his performances in the big games, before Arteta in those games his record was appalling. Then again so was our general record in those games. He has been the difference maker in recent games and I think that move to the left has bought the best out of him. As CF his hold up play got exposed but from the left and his movement is a dangerous combo.

Wrightys point about him never digging teammates out is very true. Never seen him pout or throw his toys out the pram, and given the amount of times our players don't find his great runs, he has grounds to crack the shits alot of the time but he doesn't.

He's honestly one of those guys i always thought was an arsenal player long before even joining. He carries that combo of panache and quality that was a hallmark of wengers best players

I am genuinely curious where the whispers of a poor attitude came from before he moved here. He has been a fantastic ambassador for the this club and is a brilliant captain who the players clearly respect.

I've been thinking this for years. His camaraderie with the other forwards around him has been really lovely to see since he joined us—seems to have a relentlessly positive impact on dressing room morale.

That is an excellent deal. He is showing absolutely no sign of decline and is good for another 75 goals minimum in the might red and white.

He’s got his deal and he’s getting help. Playing with AMN protects him defensively. And bringing a veteran like Willian in will help make him more effective and take the offensive load off by switching more players to the right. Things looking good for the king.

Just saw the video of him and Wrighty. Was excellent. He really wants to leave his mark here and I think over the next three years under Arteta he will do just that. Another FA Cup and a EL would go a long way. If he brings us a league in this three years then he will be in the god tier with Henry, Bergkamp, Wrighty etc.

Amazing. I love this guy.

It actually makes all the sense in the world that it was Arteta who could convince him of a legacy's worth.

Here we have someone who had never managed before taking charge of Arsenal Football Club, welcomed with open arms by the fan base. Why? Because Mikel built his own small legacy at our club.

Arteta's tenure is proof that the whole Arsenal family thing really does extend beyond players' contracts. He gets to be a hero in one of the world's greatest cities.

He matured considerably at Arsenal, but also at Dortmund there were a few abrasive characters in their non-playing squad.

Yeah id imagine 250k is his base. There wouldve been a monster signing bonus, and big money for performance incentives

Given our lessons of the last few years, I hope the club are able to convince players to take a lot of pay as Europa and Champions League incentive. Our earnings there are upside that players should have a disproportionate participation in. That will ease a lot of the pain we’ve suffered in the past 3 years.

Saw something that indicated with incentive/loyalty payments and bonuses he will/could earn 350k/week.

This is BIG for all involved and reminds me of how it felt when we signed Ozil - possibly more so. Helluva statement of intent / purpose by a truly elite player at the height of his powers to stay at the club, and a HUGE vote of confidence in what Arteta brings.
The hope is that this time we will follow through so as to maximize the potential this presents, and if anything this decision should make some players more interested to join.

I see all kinds of figures. It’s hard to know what’s true with what papers are reporting at this point I want to just trust Vinai and Edu and focus on getting the best players in. Either one of Partey or Aouar gives us our first complete squad in over a decade. Think about that. Despite all our spending, we’ve been operating with incomplete squads for a dozen years. Get both and we can start building towards Willian’s ambition.

The biggest issue has been/is still our poor cash flow, and was previously combined with AW's approach that saw the number of holes in the team multiply. It's only because we've been prepared/able to negotiate fees in installments (even combined with paying overs in some cases), that we've been able to close the gap towards having a team/match day squad that is nearing being 'fit for purpose'. By my reckoning it will essentially be the first time since the 07/08 season.
