Aubas been getting away with murder he's a top play who's putting in minimal effort. Pundits are careful about slamming players so they've given him free ride all season but eventually you've got to be fair.

Arteta had to drop him, he's given shockingly poor effort in games and regularly turns up late to training it's piss poor. You can't make excuses for that.

How many chances have we created this season compared to other supposed top teams Speedy? How many did we create against Liverpool, and who created them?

In addition to being positioned like a fullback half of the time Auba has been getting the most poverty-ass trash service that I've ever seen from an Arsenal team this season, and I think that description is being kind to the kind of football Arteta has served up. I know who I'd drop between the two of them.

People defend lazy ozil for about 2 season with we don't have the strikers to make the runs he needs. But those things aren't relevant to putting in a shift and wanting to compete.

No one has mentioned Özil, we're talking about Aubameyang. Is it your honest opinion that we are where we are in the table because Auba "has missed some really straight-forward chances" and been too lazy to make the right runs, or are we where we are because this is the worst coached, most defensive and least creative Arsenal team that anyone has seen since the last wild days of George Graham?

Nobody came out of the Liverpool have well but Auba created the only chances we really had so I don't buy this idea he's not trying. He's being asked to play a role that doesn't get the best of him and despite that still plays there despite it clearly being a total mistake.

As Klaus says this is an arsenal side barely creating anything and Auba despite that delivered 2 seasons matching much better teams strikers. I do think he's has a drop in form which is effecting his output but it's not about lack of effort. The team aren't creating enough and he's not being played where he needs.

If Auba not trying outperforms am the rest of the players we have then that would be pretty damning.

Missing chances is actually a good thing. You want your striker taking lots of shots. Someone who takes lots of shots will miss them. In the last few seasons, the guy who has missed the most shots in the league is Mo Salah. The same guy who is typically at the top of the scoring charts. He’s constantly shooting.

The hard part for a striker is creating the shot. Getting into position to receive the pass or beating the man and taking the shot. If you see Auba missing lots of shots, good.

He’s been getting more chances in 2021, but he was absolutely starved of service in the early part of the season, sometimes getting just 1 shot. That’s not enough when you typically need 4 or 5 shots to score.

Auba isn't playing with the same energy and intensity he did last season. It does not equate to he is lazy. That's just lazy posting.

He carried the team and Arteta's bland football to a trophy. No goal scorer maintains the crazy energy required to do what Aubamayeng is required to do when played wide. He is shuffled about. It is no coincidence his best performances have come when when we play with intent on the front foot. He is an ace striker and goal scorer. He has had a great career. It can't be fulfilling to chase the ball around right now. We have been doing it for a season and a half, mostly without fans.

Yep. People always used to go on about Aguero missing easy chances too. Most top strikers conversion rate is around the same as Aubas.

We are where we are for the simple reason the 300 people who work at the club have done a poor job.

Auba has been disintrested, like i said i don't care if he misses chances, but when hes not pressing hard, not competing for 50:50s just like ozil. Not holding the ball up. Not taking responsibility when he gets the ball. Not covering chambers when chambers is being murdered. All those things are huge problems. We beat spurs becaue bale left their FB hung out to dry, Auba did the same against west ham for us.

If you think all those things aren't and issue then we should sign bale whos just as lazy. Or should just have kept Vela a lazy disintrested guy with wonderful finishing.

Like i said i dont care how many goals he gets, he hung us out to dry with his lazy shit for most of the season.
He put effort in after Arteta gave him some time off. He's prefectly capable he's just not bothered.

This isn't the 90s means also 'lack of effort' normally isn't the most accurate analysis. Auba has looked shit because of some personal matters and also because the whole teams plays like dogshit. It's incredibly easy to look like you're not bothered when little is going your way, doubly so when like Auba you're a moments player, he'll never be like Adriano out there tearing teams apart he'll get on the end of a couple chances he's always been that way. I've criticised Auba plenty but I don't think he doesn't care, not yet at least.

Whole team looks shit because of their own shit performances, first and foremost. "Effort" or whatever you want to call it is the single most important quality in football. All the talent or tactics in the world can't cover up any lack thereof.

You're missing my point effort isn't something that's usually found missing at this level. The couple of times it happens like Chelsea 2015 are you can immediately tell, other times its the manager and his methods not getting through to the players or said methods simply not working in turn leading to hesitation insecurity and poor form.

Very few at this level actively put in less effort than possible because everyone's playing for their own careers, you think someone like Mustafi goes from WC winner to being linked to Barcelona playing for Arsenal to out of favour at a relegated club because he doesn't want it enough? I think it Was Fuchs at Leicester who said in an interview its the dumbest criticism ever because everyone he knows raises their effort levels when they're in poor form, it not working out doesn't mean they're not trying.

But playing on the left is not Aubameyang's strength and especially given his age that is not something he can even do well. If you as a manager play players in positions that don't suit that's on you. The types of player like Aubameyang are not running the channel. That is really poor management first and foremost. You are getting less effective performance because of the way the manager is setting things up.

Why is Aubameyang playing there as opposed to Lacazette. Probably because Arteta thinks Auba will offer something more even though not great. That is a player going with what the manager thinks the team needs rather then what is best for him. He still was involved in creating 2 of our big chances though despite all the failings in that And he has been tracking back in many of the games as well. He skillset isn't defensive so of course that's not where his best football is played.

Ultimately it's poor squad management playing a 31 year old striker there and Lacazette and Pepe were equally absent from the game. If you truly believe Auba has this problem then it applies to Lacazette and Pepe as well. There is nothing these guys are doing in addition to Auba for me.
