Yeah and Aubameyang has played mostly on the wings in the least creative Arsenal teams that I can remember, under two absolute bumblers, and there still wasn't a single player who scored more than him in Premier League in his first 2.5 seasons. We were so bad for the first half of this season that we created less chances than Sheffield. Clearly he was not the main reason our goals dried up.

That’s not a serious assessment. Auba was scoring 22 goals in molasses offense. And now that offense is flowing he’s being sat and moved around to right wing.
If we catered to Auba the way Leicester cater to Vardy, he’d be a 25-30 scorer each season. This is what I mean when I say we don’t build squads properly. We have not maximizes our best asset because he played for over a year without link players and often had to do that role.

Auba suits shit football he wants that early ball from Luiz over the top. That is peak auba. The more intricate the football against compact defenses the worse he'll be. Vardy is the same he doesn't want ball to feet back to goal. He looks lost for England against compact defenses. He lives off that early pass in behind. He's a bit slower post op and he looked shit against us.

AW had gone to counter attacking long before he left. Xhakas strength is his long ball game. And we'd brough in counter attacking players. Emery doubled down on that and cemented shit football into the team. Pepe and Zaha hes main targets look best is shit footballing sides. Iwobi was the same god awful at combination and movement.

Arteta has gigantic balls he's slinging a huge member. He's said fuck to that and he's stopped xhakas long balls. Bought intelligent players who can pass and move. Partly to help transitions. ESR and Ode he's bringing football back ?

Maybe true in 2013 when he was at St Etienne. Not a word of that is true today. Auba doesn't score because he outpaces defenders in a foot race, not any more. As for the early ball in behind the defense, I'd like to see one good striker who doesn't want that and instead would rather play in front of a compact defense. By definition, all strikers are worse off in front of compact defenses.

Thats the point auba has lost a yard and looks half as good. Vardy has a hernia and looks half as good since he doesn't have that burst in behind.

It is much harder to play in front of a compact defense but that is a huge part of the job.

We now do a lot of beautiful aimed crosses into the box. Mainly from the left, either from the top corner of the penalty box or the bottom corner of the six yard box. These are directly to players. This is the kind of ball that Aubameyang would feast on all day long. He will get to some of the lobbed balls if uncontested. We are finally playing ball that Aubameyang would like. We saw him against Leeds and Olympiakos. Getting to lots of balls in those three games.

We live in a binary world. People are either stellar or need to be sent to the knackers. This isn’t 2015 Aubameyang, but he still has a lot to offer.

Don't really care what someone chooses to look like. More worried about a dip in form etc. I do agree though he massively overperformed for 2 seasons for is equalling the top prem scorers when we were dire.

He has clearly dipped this season but I suspect some is natural variation in performance and a mixture in how we are playing. It could be something more but I don't think you could draw that conclusion right now.

I mean this is probably his worst period of form with us and he's still 2nd top scorer only 2 behind lacazette.

Auba is supposed to be world class. Lacazette on the other hand, in my book, is a B- to D+ level striker. I wouldn’t take any favorable comparisons to him as a compliment or reason for optimism.

For me, it’s a little bit banter, but it’s also a little bit serious.

When we were winning things, our most flamboyant player was Freddie. Loveable, quality, but by no means was he indispensable. These sort of things for me are distractions, and sort of indicate what a player’s mindset is like. It has nothing to do with his quality, but rather his attitude or priorities. If I were him, I’d definitely not be thinking about my new look while in the midst of the sort of form he’s been in. And I’m definitely not going to be social mediarizing about it.
