I think match days comments about refs and what he says in response to other members aren't the same thing. And I'm disappointed to hear that you don't think PGMOL is a terrorist organization.

Also, I clearly pulled them up as a response to him denying what Clrnc said, pointing to what he was referencing. Obviously I wouldn't have if his response to Clrnc was that it was just an in the heat of the moment thing.

Jones is the George Bush of the footballing world when it comes to the PGMOL. If he could he'd start a war on terrorism at their HQ he would do it overnight. Only difference between him and Bush is he wouldn't have to create fake evidence.

I don't think I ever said what Xhaka did was "good." It's a total misrepresentation of the argument, with words typically being put in people's mouths. What Xhaka did wasn't good because he didnt win the ball, but it has nothing to do with the conversation, it's not relevant. The ref was absolutely wrong and awarded a penalty for a blatant dive. It wasn't a foul and I'll stand by that all day every day. You can't stop a ref who wants you to go down. It'll be the next incident if it's not the first.

Fair enough. I generally agree that we shouldn't victim-blame when refs make mistakes but in Xhaka's case where he held his shirt and it stood out like a sail even though he was on his way down I think it's proof that Xhaka is doing something he shouldn't according to the letter of the law and I think every ref would give it because of that.

Tl;dr - tugging shirts in the box is idiotic.

I do wish we'd just get the CM to replace him so we can at least drop all these arguments. I mean, I appreciate what he does and all but he's not worth the bother of defending every time.

It wouldn't be a war on terrorism as evidenced of Bush being on the wrong side of it, in our case it'd be jihad or better yet the final intifada. Can't call PGMOL a terrorist organisation because those usually have some grievances that led to their inception, in this case it's the antichrist Mike Riley and his gang of little devils terrorising us just because.

They're unadulterated evil and inshallah there will be a tempest of a hundred thousand filthy shoes raining from the sky to shatter them and any of their inbred offspring.

Xhaka fucked it. Silva dived, Xhaka didn't have him covered, Xhaka had his hand all over Silva's shirt.

Put another player in Xhaka's place and there's no penalty on review or otherwise. And no escalation.

Attwell was off his leash, yes. We need senior players competent to not fuck everything up. They need to be able to challenge securely, allow a big chance if it can't be helped, shut up and settle the players around them.

Walton is the best evidence of how shit the refs are. He's there to provide an expert's point of view compared to ex-footballers, but instead he just spews crap and inconsistencies.

Just last week Laca got away with a silly shirt pull in the box. Shit happens.

The big issue in this match isn't the Xhaka penalty call, that was about the only thing the ref got right. It was missing the Odegaard penalty, I blame both the ref and VAR there. If both had been penalties, both had been reviewed even then at least there would be some justice. And further more the whole game went like that. Every niggly foul we committed was a red but theres were waved away. The biggest examples of this being that foul just outside the box on Ode that wasn't even given versus the red card foul by Gabriel.

Yup, I think that sums it up well.

Put it this way, if you reverse the offenses and we conceded a pen like Ode's but didn't get one like Silva's, I'd still be annoyed.

I was disappointed in Wright's analysis on MotD, I don't see how the Odegaard penalty is remotely ambiguous when there's an angle that clearly shows he made contact with his foot first - but they decided it was negated by another angle where Odegaard's foot isn't even visible.

As things settled, more and more people agreed Xhaka's pull was a penalty and it's best advised not to do that as per the discussion on Laca's silly pull. Sometimes you don't get away with that especially when the opponent makes a meal out of it like Silva.

I was originally very angry with Silva's dive but yeah come to think of it I would be disappointed not to get the same if our players got fouled that way in the box. It's up to the attacking player to exaggerate the foul as if you don't fall you won't get a pen as seen many times.

Xhaka is just a fucktard, he never learns.

That's the worst aspect of VAR in England. Not even the braindead piece of shit making the calls in front of or behind the screen but the bloke who's cutting the clips for the refs to look at.

The whole process takes ages and then the decision 90% of the time is based on the equivalent of a 320p screenshot. When they reviewed whether Mount should've been sent off vs Liverpool I literally laughed out loud, they kept looping a blurry clip of the back of Atkinsons bald head with Mount being in view for about 0.2 seconds 😆

I think thats it. And I think its a lot of "he could have got in trouble there" moments with Xhaka that make people think he's targetted too. Look at match day threads since he's been back and something like this is almost always a possibility with him. If you're an English Harry yeah you get away with more of them but if you're Fernandinho, Bissouma or for that matter Partey/Lokonga/AMN you will get pulled on these things just the same.
