Even more so when you have the highest spend for the transfer window.

For example, in the midfield, you have Granit Xhaka and Thomas Partey. So, for me and for Mikel it doesn't make sense to sign another player to be on top of them if they are the ones that are going to be playing. from edus big sky interview they still see xhaka as first choice to partner thomas, with sambi as the backup. there was some suggestion sambi would automagically take granits place but as I suspected it's still granits place to lose, no matter how much fuck shit he pulls on the pitch I had missed this interview. I mean to me just confirms the assessment of both Arteta and edu I had made based on their actions. Both seem to find back him and rate him, nothing else you can really draw from how they've treated him and to be confirmed they both seem clueless given how much of a detriment he is and clearly limited let alone all the poor football intelligence and character traits he has.

Just another nail in their coffins. IMO he should have been the first player at the club to be replaced during the summer. As I said elsewhere the failure to sign Buendia and to replace Xhaka are the defining moments of the transfer window.
Welcome back, king.
I hate him but he didn’t play badly today. Better than that fraud Partey.
He was okay today. Considering how long he's been out for, he actually played better than okay.
Don't think he should have played , surely not 100% fit.
He's certainly not back in on merit. Favoritism all over again.
Rather spend the whole season playing AMN and Lokonga than seeing him again.
He's been unfit mentally his entire bloody football career. Those last few percent of physical fitness will be neither here nor there. There's no fixing his noggin.

Lokonga wouldn’t have survived in such a game like todays.
What did Xhaka do that suggests he "survived"?
The brave man survived getting dribbled in midfield which led to their second goal. Most players wouldn't outlive that but this bloke will be back for another round on the weekend.
Just saw his positioning for their winning goal too. Just standing there marking thin air and can't close in because he is on a yellow. Hilarious
The first time in his Arsenal career he chose to not take a second yellow and they score.
Whole tempo drops with him in midfield. Haven't seen us start a game so slowly since he got injured
he is who we thought he was, and we let him off the hook
My remaining hope re Xhaka is that Roma do make another offer in Jan, and Arteta is over ruled and the offer is accepted.

a classic
r.i.p. denny green.
this athletic interview really speaks to the depths of his delusion, and why he's never changed as a player. arrogance personified, and constantly rewarded by the club
He speaks out of his arse. 0 intelligence
