Its not much better, 24 or 25 its still ridiculous he's been given a new deal.
sack edu, arteta and everyone else at this club who is currently responsible for making decisions about the first team and player recruitment. this is utterly embarrassing. what the fuck has happened to this club in the last decade? jesus christ

That would mean it is just a year extension, which is fine as he is obviously staying here this season.

Can you expand on this please? What does the absence of the two strikers have to do with Xhaka's extension?

I'm not really sure how much he's going to provide at 32 when even at his prime he's below average.
arteta has fallen out or frozen out every experienced player except this guy. coaches really have a thing for granit the madcap soldier
Have read that it DOES still involve him being paid more than his current deal - presumably it applies across the entire new contract timeframe and not just the year extension.

Arteta referred to the lack of experience/leadership on the pitch & has spoken about Xhaka's leadership qualities when talking about him staying at the club = we may be prepared to sell both PEA and Laca etc which then has Xhaka and Bellerin as the 2 longest serving players remaining for now until Bellerin also departs.

Last Man Standing.
I'm going to wait until the transfer window closes to see what happens before I make a decision regarding this season. As it stands I won't be watching any games with the current squad including Xhaka under Arteta as manager and Edu as TD/whatever. If Xhaka is made Captain again I'll probably have a dummy spit and stop posting here until such time as there are changes re any of Arteta, Edu and/or KSE ownership.
correction: "has beens and never was" coaches.
maybe, but pretty much every coach not in a AAA job seems to hold him in high regard
that's why it was no surprise that has been mourinho wanted him (but at a price commensurate to his abilities). granit attracts a certain loser (whether they started off that way or ended up that way) type.
Our captain and supposedly best CM.
Why would you put out a statement like that? Just shut the fuck up about it now, send Jose a message in private maybe if you have to.
because he wants to leave and he's trying to make the situation untenable. but he'll eventually accept that arteta just can't quit him and he's stuck here as long as he's manager.
He also came out with the standard "we need to pull tougher, put things right" bs that he spouts every time we loose a few games. After the fact of course, mr capitan sends 20 year old Lokonga to do interviews after the game. Prick
Xhaka is poison. Hated him for 5 years now.

I was going to say why sign a contract if thats the case but maybe the inbuilt extension stuff is true and Xhaka really doesn't want to be here.
why would he want to be here? i don't think we're overpaying him so a big pay cut isn't required for him to go to a club like roma. so if money is sorted out, why would you want to stay at a place where the fans hate you and you're losing (because we employ garbage like you).
