This kid was in our youth set up. Maybe AMN and him played together as kids as I think they are the same age.

Anyway we decided he wasn’t good enough and let him go at age 13. He was in burst of tears at the time, just shows how tough it is to make it at this level. Glad things are going well for him now, looks like a great player to watch.

By the way, when the season is dissected, we should start with Chelsea’s summer spending. For my money, that is one of the most wasteful transfer binges in recent history.

Look, it’s possible to just toss money in the bin when you’re them. But when you already have CHO, Mount and Pulisic, did you need to get Havertz and Ziyech? And then to buy Werner and also play him wide while you use Tammy and Giroud central? They should’ve just bought Havertz. Or they could’ve just bought a Haland to end the striker discussion. Price was immaterial.

All this while defensive midfield and central defense could use long term reinforcements.
