Arsenal fans seem to be worst around in terms of thinking they're well informed and know it all - more than highly skilled and experienced professionals employed by the club.
Recruitment at Arsenal has been shocking for about 15 years now. This overhaul is long overdue.
I want Arsenal to win and that entails signing good players. I don't care whether that's through an agent or through a scout. I don't care what wages the player is on or how much we've paid the agent. We've been promised jam tomorrow for 15 years now and it hasn't come. I'm all for signing experienced proven players who can deliver now - like Willian, Coutinho, Aubamayeng - rather than trying to find the next big thing. We tried and mostly failed. When we did strike gold (Cesc, RvP. Nasri etc) - they left as soon as they turned elite. It's about the here and now. If we haven't learnt that after the painful project youth era i don't know what to say.
And regards to the 55 people who have lost their job - it's the clubs internal affairs ultimately. Sure, the communication could have been better but ultimately we're not privy to who these people were, how they were performing and how relevant their roles were in a post COVID world. AFC is a business. Redundancies happen in businesses. Its not nice for the people involved but people get their knickers in a twist about this need a reality check imo. 2500 lost their job at Debenhams two days ago. Where's the thread for that?
I'm all for this new regime. We finally had a good summer window for once after years of Gazidis and Wenger having their heads up their arses. We got the manager we wanted, albeit slightly later than ideal. We've won a trophy in what was otherwise one of the worse seasons for this club. We're clearly on an upward trajectory. I have faith in Raul, Edu and Arteta to do what it takes to get us to close the gap. And that's all that matters to me as a fan.
