Watched a few movies in the last couple days cos I've a cold so reading back over this thread. Did no one talk about Bugonia? I thought it was brilliant, 3 great performances from the main 3, Stone wont get the recognition she deserves I think because what she's doing is so subtle and brilliant. Plemons might because he has the bigger acting to do and my god does he do it. Aidan Delbis should get a supporting nod too but probably wont. I think Lanthimos just nails the whole thing.
Other stuff I watched
One Battle After Another - very good, obviously Penns incredible. Not much else to say about it. Agree with @Sicario that it was a little flabby, could maybe have 10 minutes cut.
Wake Up Dead Man - solid. Better than Glass Onion, not as good as the first. Haven't seen much of Josh O'Connor but found him really charismatic in this. Brolin is great too.
Good Fortune - Aziz Ansari comedy with Keanu and Seth Rogan. Shite, not funny outside a couple of Keanu bits, story is a shoddy changing places narrative that comes off incredibly condescending from Ansari and Rogan.
Running Man - Agree with @RocktheCasbah , good fun romp. Wasn't really convinced by Glen Powell at first but between this and Hit Man he's proving himself a pretty entertaining leading man.
Also not new but watched Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom with my kids and its one of the worst things I've ever seen. The script wasn't great but honest the direction is just the worst. I didn't realise a director could ham it up but here we are. It'd put me off ever watching another Bayona film again.
