The problem is that at this stage Spurs know that the next available option is Jermaine Jenas so they are likely to stick with a new manager for far longer than one would normally expect them to. This is the end of an era for them (would be foolish not to sell Kane, Son is slowing down a bit) and they’ll be looking to rebuild from scratch. Despite their best intentions I hope ze history of ze Tottenham rises to the top once again like the proverbial turd that just won’t flush.

Feel for Spurs. They won’t get a replacement of Kane’s quality. And if they let him stay, they’ll get nothing at all. If I were the new manager, I’d take the risk and sell both Kane and Son. And go after some young options. They’re at risk of making the mistakes we made under Emery. But fuck em.

I get why they didn't, but they should have sold from a position of strength. Now they're out the Champions League, with a no-name manager, and without the top players needed to get themselves back in. As you say, they're damned if they do and if they don't.

It does help them. But Newcastle and soon to be Man United's money almost neutralises that for them. It's going to be very tough for them to even finish top 6, with or without Kane imo.

Clrnc Be interesting if PIF decided every other worthwhile Newcastle target should go to the Saudi league instead. Seems like they're all in on trying to make their own project huge which means Newcastle isn't the priority.

Massive loss for them but they've got a decent fee and they need to move on as well. If you recruit well they could improve the team massively.
