My worst case scenario is we are currently spending our future transfer funds for the next couple of seasons, and we're increasing prices paid in terms of quality but we won't actually get the rebuild done (as seen with Xhaka starting).

IMO it hasn't been done quickly or thoroughly enough to date = this is Arteta's 2nd summer and 4th transfer window, and we still have at least 5 match day / starting players who shouldn't be here or don't want to be here (Xhaka, Leno, Bellerin, PEA, Laca).

Whilst I understand the dangers of doing too much too soon and destabilising the squad, IMO there are ways to mitigate those issues and it is far better to get it over and done with over 2 summers than it is to drag it into a 3rd season. IMO IF you are going to take a hit then do it once.

As it stands by not being decisive we are setting ourselves up to repeat AW's endless cycle of rebuilding and always being 1-2 players short of being fit for purpose, as by the time we finish the purge it will be time to replace Mari, Cedric, El Neny, Pepe & Partey.

I’d take Graham Potter over Arteta all day. Heck, I would even take Steve Bruce at this point. He brought more out of Willock than Arteta ever could.

Don't understand why Arteta always makes it so complicated. He's too fucking stubborn for a rookie. The performance of the team hasn't been up to standards for a long time now and he hasn't bothered to change his methods and tactics.

My only wish for now is that Arteta leaves. I'd rather spend zero between now and the end of the window if Arteta and Edu are the ones doing the spending.

I just don’t see it Ricky. He doesn’t carry a consistent goal threat, he’s not cute enough with his passing in the final third and he can’t take the game by the scruff of the neck. I’d rather play Saka centrally

I'd only agree with your last criticism. he has that ozil trait where they show you their brilliance in high quality bursts but leave you begging for them to be involved more often, but it's to be expected at his age.

That’s one match and not once did he create a situation where you’d expect a goal to arrive

That's the issue. All the nifty turns in the world but no real chances created or goals scored against championship opposition. He's great, I love him, but at some point reality intervenes.
