Is it just Arteta or are you guys worn down by a decade of Stan?
It's Arteta. Stan is a horrible owner and ultimately responsible for the management but he's not actively sabotaging the club like Peter Lim or Zamparini, if Arteta weren't as shit he wouldn't be that big an issue.

I'd rather spend €40m on Bissouma than Odegaard.

I'm the opposite = I want MO to play the Xhaka role and run our transition from midfield with the likes of Saka, ESR, Buendia roaming in the half spaces.
I think if we want a player like that we'd be better off signing someone who's proven they can do it. Changing Odegaard to that seems like a waste of time and money. If we needed a 10 I'd be all for signing Odegaard, he's a very good one but we don't need him and I think you wanting him in midfield is the sort of shoehorning we should avoid.

Fair enough. My reasons against playing him as CAM/#10 is that he is essentially a supporting player by type = more Ozil than not, and I want more direct goal threat from the front 4 in the 4231. IMO he is more than capable to play as a #8 in the MC midfield set up.
Just realised the Premiership season ends on Sunday. Thank fuck for that

I agree with that for the number 10 as I think ESR is better at the things you mention, I just don't think Odegaard is well rounded enough to do a job deeper in midfield. Plus Partey is a perfect 8 for me and I'd rather get a 6 in there to play with him whether thats a straight up DM or DLP. Either way they need to be good at the defensive side of things.
Definitely, though I feel it is unlikely as would need to complete a deal quickly for him, as I am sure he will have other high profile suitors.
Odegaard is too much a of luxury when we have limited funds. We would probably need to overpay on salary as well to convince him to join permanently if we can't offer European football.
Going into next season with one attacking midfielder is nuts.

Everyone wants more attacking cohesive football. I'd be happy if we signed him. He's 22 the perfect age to explode and he's got the talent to do it.
KDB and Salah both had there real break out seasons at that age.

Thats why we prefer Smith-Rowe at number 10.

Ode has the vision ESR has the movement. I like them both on the pitch. And ESR is an injury concern.

That sums it up. I like ESR but his passing is not close to where we need it to be for a #10, at least not right now. And his injuries make it a guess if he'll ever reach that level if we're being honest.
Ode, Saka, ESR means no Marti or Pepe which leaves us lacking goals.

His levels already above Odegaards, been much better than him this season.
I like them both and would like to have both
Odegaard just doesn't create enough.
For a player sitting behind the forward his numbers are v poor.
Nothing I've seen suggests he's worth paying 40-50m for.
I'd rather have that Brighton lad.

He's been better yes but his passing hasn't. Odegaard has come last winter and hasn't really gotten a real run in the team can't expect a 22 year old to deliver right away but he's shown enough even here to tell his passing is better.
The problem with Ode is the same issue we had with Ozil, they only know how to play as number 10s. ESR is more of an all rounder and £50m cheaper.
