We need to solve the issue of getting the ball up. The striker should be judged by his ability to get into good positions, take shots, and score goals. In the two prior games, we got the ball the ball up field and he did most of the above, getting a hat trick versus Leeds.

I've just posted an observation in the Tactics thread IMO we are setting up differently in the last 3 games, which would mean the players are still adapting to the new patterns and roles. IMO our positioning has been 'off' and we may be misinterpreting capability for intent in our transition play. The return of Partey and his early vertical transition may resolve a number of teething issues.

He's so dynamic and box to box he reminds me of Dembele for Fulham in the past. Looks like an attacker converted into midfielder.

Xhaka, Mustafi, Perez, Holding is a summer that will live in infamy.

The way Xhaka played yesterday versus the City midfielders. Just killed us. We can’t do anything with him. He can’t lead a press. He can’t take the ball and drive. Couple of times he was near the penalty box and saw no passing options and wasn’t able to just get on the ball and run into the box. He had the space to but his leaden boots wouldn’t allow it. We start games a man down with this guy. Anguissa would make us whole.

I see it as Bissouma having the far tighter touch compared to Anguissa, who looks loose and a bit raw. I think Bissouma also has much better balance and agility. Maybe he's not going to split the defence with a pass, but he's a very good carrier of the ball and with that balance he has, allied to good speed and strength, he reminds me quite a bit of Kanté. He's also a remarkably good tackler.

I think he's going to be a great pick up for a big club.

Kanté is who he reminds me of too. Supreme energy levels.

I really want someone like Bissouma in our midfield. He's not a brilliant passer but he's playing for two people. He's got that burst of pace that means he gets past anyone he draws in too close too. Players like this are invaluable. They give you so much freedom elsewhere in the team.

I agree about his stamina and that great burst he has. He's a super athlete.

yeah i'm a big Bissouma fan, but i'm not gonna turn down Anguissa either. i prefer Bissouma because I want someone more defensive and tireless next to Partey.

Bissouma for me. We need cover for Partey as well as someone who can partner him.

In order to improve our game overall it’s imperative that we get a good right back. Bellerin is pure guff. Get Lamptey or Hakimi in.

We also need another top notch centreback. Someone calm with quality on the ball. Ruben Dias like. Maybe Pau Torres is that man

Top target would be Camavinga for me. A of French players idolised our team from the Wenger era and we have done little to capitalise on it since. Its why I also want Saliba to succeed with us. Get Camavinga in for next season and with any luck, we could throw ourselves in the mixer for Mbappe on a free in 2022. Make them want to come to us first before that stint at the likes of Real or Barca rather than after they have finished with them.

This - even if it is initially seen as a stepping stone = once they are in the door anything could happen, particularly if we are/become genuine contenders both in the PL and UCL.

Canavinga is a doable target. I’ve seen United £50m rumours but they need to explain how he fits in to their midfield mess. We’d have a plan.

That said, for half the price we get Soumare or maybe Tchouameni and get to build them up. Or just do Anguissa / Bissouma for a safe bet. In the end, there is no excuse to be looking at Xhaka next year.

Would love Camavinga but it wouldn't exactly make us title contenders, or even viable top four candidates. If it were part of a Chelsea-like buying spree, I'd be all for it.

Runs in behind too. We only really have Saka, Martinelli and occasionally Auba who can do that
