Very random, but I was on the stat site fbref.com - which is awesome btw - I was looking to see which players profile similar to Rodri, wondering who Arteta might envisage there post-Partey, and how Tonali would stand up to a comparison (not well is the answer). Anyway, I ended up comparing Busquets and Rodri (that's the link above) and it's completely insane how identical they are. Almost impossibly so. Fair fucks to Guardiola and their recruitment team. They absolutely nailed what they were after with him.

Different types of players to Rodri but Kondogbia and Casemiro would be top drawer options

Anyone been watching Matheus Nunes? Rumours that West Ham have had a bid turned down and he's super highly rated. Scored a belter today as well

Just curious what kind of player he is.

If it is the Sporting lisbon midfielder, he looked like a box-to-box midfielder to me in their CL tie vs Ajax and City last year.

There was not much to go by though as Sporting got absolutely spanked in both the matches.

Just reading up and sounds like he has rejected joining Wolves as well. Just curious if he would be an option for us. If we don't sign someone to replace Xhaka then we need to sign a shit hot talent who can take over.

That might be the best bet. Xhaka is here to stay as a starter so it might be worth getting someone like Nunes in who'd be competition and ready to take over in a year or two.

I've come to terms with the fact that we won't be signing a bona fide starter in Xhaka's spot so a high quality young midfielder in that position would be the next best thing.

Some rumours that Pedro Neto may become available this window and we've been linked, cracking player...

Has now signed with Wolves for 38m.

Joao Felix reportedly offered to MU for 100m = think he would do well in our attack even as WF or when we change to a 2 ST set up with either Jesus or Eddie.

According to who? Last I heard it was the opposite, that Atletico rejected their advances.

We should really just go all out for Bellingham.

Yes, 3 years too late but he would be transformational for us. Word around is Madrid will definitely sign him next season though.

Dest is available for 10m, deemed surprlus to requirement by Barca. Would be good for us

Sounds like Liverpool are very confident they'll get Bellingham next summer, they've probably already done the groundworks for that deal.

That was their response to the rumours!

Bellingham-Tchouameni-Camavinga

is some midfield, they'll be set for the decade.

The funny thing is after selling Casemiro for over 70m that means they didn't even need to spend much or wait long to rejuvenate that ageing midfield. Also got very good fees for many other players and net spend remains low.

So he hasn’t got a release clause?
