I see it as natural for good times to soften stances on certain players like Laca and Xhaka. While it is debatable, I agree with you Qwiss and just don't think he agrees to a one year deal.

In the 08/09 squad we had Eduardo, Van Persie, Adebayor, Bendtner, and Vela as CF options. Times seemed to have changed; managers tend to stockpile different positions and youth seem to feel more entitled to game time so maybe its no longer common to have that rich a pool at CF. Two CFs plus Martinelli/Smith-Rowe as alternative options would be a decent start.

I pretty much agree, except what he's doing now seems less bad when you imagine a dissatisfied £35m signing riding the pine.

Either way an "internal solution" would also be better than that.

Also IIRC we were essentially playing a 442 with a starting front 2 of Greedy in his last season with us and RVP, with Eduardo on the comeback from his horrific injury & Vela in his 1st season with the team after gaining his work permit, whilst Bendtner was being himself.

The more I watch Felix the more I think its a pipe dream. Way out of our level currently. If we even try for him it will be the biggest signing the club has ever made.

Have you watched him much Clrnc? Wanted him after a youtube comp but saw some stats on twitter that were not very flattering. Seems like he doesn't get involved much and his pass completion percentages are really low.

I watched some Nunez youtube comps, so take with a pinch of salt, but he seems to lack explosiveness and agility - which I think could be a problem in the cut and thrust of the Premier League. He just seemed a bit laboured generally.

You think Felix could cut it in Lacazette's role, Clarence?

He reminds me of a young Cavani to be honest. Obviously still raw but the ingredients are there for a prolific scorer.

Yeah Felix would definitely cut it in the Laca role. He has everything in his locker to succeed well there and he is versatile as hell. Just don't think he will want to come here or that we could succeed in getting him here

Would work well in a three with Partey and Odegaard and if ever Odegaard is out we’d have like for like cover

If we're going that route I'd rather just play ESR there. But ultimately I think the role should be filled by a true 2-way B2B midfield player. A prime Vidal type.

I agree, don't think Maddison is worth the money Leicester would ask for him. Nor is he the best type of midfielder for that role. I would go for a Cazorla or prime Ramsey type of midfielder there. Don't have any names tbf

Osmihen on the other side, I would love to get. Can't see it happening tho

Frenkie De Jong looked superb again for Barca, a shame was hoping his poor form would continue! That is the type of player we need in midfield imo.

Personally think several of the names that have been listed on here make sense and fit that description. Barella was wishlisted here at one point in the Summer. I don't really follow Inter but have been thinking lately about how nicely he could fit in. I see he's usually listed right-side but several times watching him noticed he's been active left-side. In any case, a deal not possible and that's fine. There are options and several that are domestic.
