We look better coached than I've seen in a while, but having talents like these two does help. Steve Bould was living off that 2008 Youth Cup win though, for sure.
Patino is such a good mover, very Wilshere-esque. Maybe a touch more Foden-like with his dribbling and agility. Either way, he's looking like he's got a chance of doing something good here.
Superb assist for Balogun (and a really good finish by Beireth). What I like most about Balogun is the way he can receive the ball with a man at his back and yet his first touch is so good and so reliable. He really reminds me of a throwback striker from the 90s - mostly of two others from the Arsenal academy - Andy Cole and Kevin Campbell. He has that mix of power and directness that is quite rare in the modern 9. It's going to be about how good the rest of his game is in terms of his awareness and passing as to whether he can take over from Aubameyang in the next season or two, or we go looking in the market.
I'd like to think he was taken off at half-time with AFC Wimbledon in mind, but I can't see it because Lacazette needs minutes. Maybe from the left or right, but then it could be argued Nketiah and Martinelli are the priorities right now. Would love to see Patino get a debut, and I think that he might see some minutes actually.
