I'd much rather bet on Willock next season. We don't need two young box to box players assuming we sign a new starter this summer, and I just think Joe is a better and smarter footballer. Homegrown too.
I’ve been really impressed with Joe’s stint with Newcastle so far. Already looking much more involved and willing to be the difference maker than he has in most of his PL appearances with us, where he generally would play within himself and get lost a bit during games.
Think him seeing how good he really is compared to some of these blokes is doing him the world of good. He’s probably turned up to train up there and recognised straight away that he’s better than any of the cloggers they have turning out in midfield.
It must be doing his confidence wonders.
He’s still struggling to get anything tangible out of his involvements, but that was never an issue in his EL appearances so i have faith in him to figure that side of things out.
I’m coming around to him.
