Maybe, it did also occur to me that maybe he wants to give the impression that we did everything we can to keep the kid to prevent the inevitable backlash. But I doubt it, he went into a lot of detail and it would be too easy for both Balogun and his agency to make him look like an idiot if it wasn't true, so I reckon the comments can be taken at face value.
As for Balogun, he's 19 and has half the juvenile section of the fanbase gassing him and telling him he should be playing etc. This is where he needs good people around him to tell him to shut up and focus on his football. Maybe that's why he's erased his Instagram history. Who knowns, but I'm certain if he had something agreed elsewhere he'd have announced it by now.
