You're being ridiculous, Anzac. The club is owned by one of the richest persons in the world who has the only say in what we do or don't do. Our approach is not dictated by any values, just by sheer cheapness on his part. He could loan us any amount of money tomorrow to get through this crisis if he wanted, but he won't, because he didn't become obscenely rich by helping people.
Kroenke didn't put the financial model in place = he's just maintaining the status quo.
The sustainable self funding model was put in place long before AW let alone KSE, and was one of the things that PHW used to entice Kroenke to become the controlling shareholder as he would not need to invest any of his money into the club to fund our business operations. The club/BoD had proven it 'worked' by managing to get through the first decade of the stadium project, where we sold players to raise revenue and to generate cash flow and profits in order to maintain the model.
All of our previous shareholders were all millionaires before they sold out to KSE, and so far as I'm aware the only one of them who put any money directly into the club since Norris was Fizsman, when DD sold him some shares to bring him in for investment into the team. IIRC he made a loan of 54m that was primarily used to fund DB, Platt and to give Wright a new contract. KSE has now given us a loan re the stadium bonds.
IMO the financial model no longer works in the new TV revenue financial era, during which time we have not only fallen from top4 on the pitch, but also off it in terms of our revenues to the point we have been passed by LFC & TH without mega bucks from their owners, and are possibly no longer in the top10 revenues globally.
