Mikel really planned for this game. You can see that he understands City. He was very happy to put 10 men at the top of the box and force them to cross the ball in the air knowing a) they don’t cross as well as Pool and b) our centrebacks will eat everything up anyway.

And as risky as it felt, he did a good job of building our confidence and breaking through their first two lines of defense by playing on the floor from our goalkeeper. Unlike Pool, they don’t have Fabinho, Gomez and Van Dijk in behind once you’ve crossed the first two lines of defense so this was such a smart approach.

I heart our manager.

And I like how we high press Ederson and their defenders, but given Silva, Gundogan and KDB more space in the middle to strut their stuffs aimlessly. As long as we defend deep against the Brazilian midget they can't really break through without any defensive mistake on our part.

Oh by the way fuck the 2 commentators. So obvious they were devastated when we scored the 2nd goal and even with 7 minutes left they kept saying this might go to extra time. Jokers

Robin, the man who left us supposedly because we were not spending, now saying that we shouldn’t just spend big for the sake of it and buy big players.

I know Luiz is MOTM, but Aubameyang, fuck me, what a performance. Most likeable arsenal player since Cesc for me.

Nice to see you around again! Everything alright mate?

Fantastic right now!

Think this is just my yearly drop in when arsenal give me a reason to feel optimistic. Last time was when we signed Pepe, shot my load a bit early there. 😆

Otherwise, all surprisingly good under lockdown. Hope you, Ricky, Mirth and the rest of the guys and gals are all well here.

He's just trying to keep us down so United will work up a bigger distance this summer, the snake.

He is the worst sort of hypocrite. Very unlikeable personality. Just look at him.

Are Arsenal tryna make my weekend for once?!  😃 so happy with that result! Will start praying for a win in the final now  😆 Tierney what a guy! So important in both the goals. Everyone was brilliant even Xhaka! Thoroughly deserved the win and lets hope for the same in the final please Auba  🙂 she wore, she wore...

What a fucking win, thought after the first half we might have blown it as we had other big chances but fair fucks to them. Yet again showing massive character and showing these players can fight for each other on the pitch.

Luiz, Xhaka, Tierney & Auba stand out performers but apart from a few moments I think all the players on the pitch performed.

31% possesion vs Liverpool, 29% now. 2 wins, feel good to be the ones that win like that for a change

In both games while we have been under a lot of pressure it is not like our keeper has single handedly kept us in the game. They've had their chances but defensively we've been so well organised and really done well to restrict their chances. We've played two vastly superior sides, no shame in admitting that, and given then both tough games.

I thought Pepe did well on both goals. The cross was obviously quality, but the hold-up play for the second was crucial.

Luiz, AMN, Auba and Tierney were top class today.

Stoked. Landmark win for Arteta. That 18 pass move for the first goal v MC is a huge statement of capability, as has been the defensive performances seen this week v LFC and MC.
There should no longer be any doubt that we now have the right man at the helm to take the club forward = give the man the resources he needs/wants.

Huge shout out to Luiz in the heart of the defensive effort & there were no passengers in the team.
Ozil & Guendouzi are missing out & only have themselves to blame.

Yes he was good today. He's on 8 goals 9 assists for the season now which is not a bad return. If he can get 10 goals 10 assists would be very good.

I feel sometimes he is judged unfairly because of his price tag but I am hoping he will have his usual 2nd season jump next season. We should persist with him for at least another year.

He was really good, and more importantly, good in ways you didn't expect him to be just a few months ago. Really disciplined performance.

Great defensive performance today, best I've seen us in that regard for some time.

I really like Arteta. 2-3 good signings {as usual} and I think he can work with the players he had today into something special.

He improves our attack.

Arteta had a great game tonight. I questioned the selection of AMN on the left but after half an hour I asked the City fan I was watching with "does Mahrez ever god one the outside?" and he said now. And you could see it everytime AMN had him. Now we sacrificed in attack because of that but its the sort of pragmatic decision you need at our level against City.

Have to say after Spurs I was dispondent but these last 2 results gave given me hope again. If we get into Europe one way or the other I might start to believe again.
