Both of norwich's full backs are decent along with Emi Buendia and Todd cantwell.

Seems they're pricing all of them out moves thus far.

It's not just that we'd lose a good player, it's that he's a legitimate option in three positions - leftback, rightback and central midfield - where most of our current options are dodgy, especially if Tierney continues at the back in a three-man defence. Kolasinac and Cedric are not real footballers and Bellerin has been on his way down for years. Our only central midfielder at the moment if Ceballos doesn't renew his loan is Joe Willock.

True but it seems like the player is determined to leave. The agent he recently hired doesn't have good relations with the club as far as I know. He has probably been bought in to secure him a move and good contract.

I mean he has three years left on his contract. It's up to the club to decide when he leaves at the moment, and it's not like he isn't getting game time.

I wasn't counting Xhaka because to me he plays at the base of the midfield regardless of who we sign, but yeah.

Elneny might end up being decent squad cover. I said in the preseason thread that I'd rather have him than Torreira on the bench next season. Does anyone now how he did in Turkey?

I just can't see how we'd get less if we sell him in a year, but I can definitely see us getting more.

True but we also need the money. If he has told the club he wants out and nothing will change his mind then a decision needs to be made. Can we justify keeping an unhappy £25m squad player here?

Arteta has shown plenty of trust in him towards the end, might be too little too late for him.

Was trying to find out too but no negative or positive reports. Seems like he is just a 6/10 player everywhere

He's not a bad player and I'm surprised there's no takers, but I don't want him anywhere near the team to be honest. He's insanely slow and gets turned far too easily.

He's only really good at RB though. He did a job on City at LWB but really he contributes nothing going forward when you play him there. I don't think he's ever had a good game in the midfield.

There's probably some truth in that, but so's Xhaka. Looking at the squad we currently have, Elneny is probably the only player capable of deputising for him.

El Neny should be the example used when the executives discuss the need to trim the squad and use those funds to invest in a stronger first 11. Sokratis, El Neny, etc, all these guys can be replaced by a teenager while we pool their funds for one Aouar

Based on Arteta’s comments today I think he wants AMN to stay and I think he will stay.
