Either way it suggests that the Kroenke's will have to decide very soon whether or not to dip into their pockets for this one, and I can just imagine Arteta and Edu's nervousness in asking them to do so especially given current results and so soon after the Partey deal.

It's the right thing to do though, especially if accurate crosses, corners and shots are Arteta's priority.

I want to give Arteta to the end of the season to see what he can do in developing our style of play.

Saka, Nelson, Pepe, Partey, Tierney, Gabriel and Partey are all parts of the solution. Start putting players around these guys, and use the January to tweak further.

Our attacking play though has to be better as the season goes on.

Romano says we've been talking with his agent for weeks, and should hear something soon. Leipzig qualifying for knockout CL rounds might have given them a little more of an edge. I still reckon he goes there for a few years

I wouldn’t come here if I were him, not if he’s genuinely looking for a stepping stone. His profile would grow much more at a team like Leipzig. Easier opposition, playing time more assured, CL football, well functioning team and probably easier to leave when the time comes. But if he’s serious about football, he’d choose us over staying with the Energy drink corporation.

I think it's a boring move to go to Leipzig. Come here and play for a proper club! We might be in a bit of disarray during the rebuild, but there's a decent chance we return to the top tier in the next season or two.

Obviously Leipzig are a piece of piss tinpot club and anyone who willingly drinks let alone associates himself with Red Bull is at a minimum a latent nonce. That said they're doing well on the pitch and for most players today football is a game of money and individual glory where associations don't matter.

Put it this way, the arrival of embezzled Russian funds at a small London club can make Nazis count an Ivorian to their personal heroes and legends. Dominik Szoboszlai Hungarian footballer was two years old when that happened.
