I like Thiago a lot, but he was ready made for a Liverpool/City type team. He made no sense for us.
Similarly, Jota is a very neat and clever attacking mid, but doesn’t really excel as a winger, nor as a striker. #10 will be his best chance of fulfilling his potential.
Who knows, maybe as a false 9 he might explode, but again around £45mil for him, I pass. This sort of signing can only be made by a team not expecting instant success from their signings, as their first team can carry the load.
