Slow day at work.

Wonder how long before Mou fights Levy.

Kia player.

David Alaba - Chelsea are reportedly lining up a stunning bid for David Alaba as Frank Lampard steps up his hunt for a new left-back. (The Sun, June 26)

If Chelsea land Alaba, wow! The third Roman revolution. He's inspired by Liverpool.

I still want to know where this CFC funding is coming from.

Knew Mourinho would want Meunier - sort of oversized player he likes

Whatchu mean? Roman mad rich

Yeah but he can't provide direct revenues any more under FFP - that's why they have so many players out on loans & sell a handful every season so as to create a new revenue stream that replaces Abramovich's money =  Roman only covers off on any end of season pre-tax operating losses.

The media keep talking about them having made a profit and having a 150m war chest based upon their transfer ban, but those numbers were pre-COVID.  They haven't cut wages, they have over 2 dozen loan players returning at the end of their respective seasons. They don't have cash reserves & they aren't going to generate pre-COVID revenues via the transfer market. They are 'linked' to over 200m worth of players In for this coming transfer window.

That said IMO if there are genuine bargain opportunities to be had for genuine starting level players who are 'fit for purpose', then I think it is worth a potential breach of FFP & transfer ban to sign them and directly improve both the starting XI and squad to top4 quality. Only 'issue' being that I do not believe we have the appetite to do so as that would be 'against our traditional values'.

They also sold hazard and morata for 150m. I'm pretty sure they're sitting on a large pile of spendable cash, and lampard has proven he's worth backing

The only way they have any spendable cash is if Abramovich has agreed to cover their COVID losses as being included as their operating costs, allowing all their revenue to go towards transfers (not including wages).  However even so I'd suspect the amount required to do so would run into the hundreds of millions and would run foul of UEFA's FFP criteria.

Be that as it may if it's good enough for CFC to do so then I see no reason as to why we should not also take advantage of a depressed market value during a buyer's market scenario, and I'd have no issues if we fought fire with fire.  Even if KSE did not provide revenues or cover our operating costs, IIRC we'd have a 3 season 'window' to regain FFP compliance before UEFA would look to take action.

They'll find a way to sell their players. They sold a washed up Diego Costa for 56m euros to Atletico. 😆

Napoli trying to get osimhen and gabriel in a double deal

Not sure about osimhen. Looks about saha level

To be fair, Saha was a very good premier league level striker before injuries messed him up.

RIO has spoke about when vidic arrived and saha was murdering him in training. Vidic was asking him how come saha isn't a known WC player. The injuries held him back but he had everything.

Saha was a good player, but that's about it

He was more than just good. Unfortunately he was very rarely free of injury so never got to consistently shine. He wasn't WC but he could do everything.

For what it's worth in Clairefontaine when Henry Anelka and Saha were there at the same time Saha was the highest rated of the three. Injuries and poor work ethic ruined him

I always liked Saha and I reckon you could tell he had much football in him by the way he became a cult hero for both United and Everton fans despite not playing that much for either club. Gazza is right though, on the pitch he didn't have a great output after leaving Fulham. Injuries robbed him of a great career.

Sane gone to Bayern for an initial £44mil

Absolute steal

Wow. Makes Bayern look smart for pulling out of Pepe.
That said, given our wretched form, I wouldn't be surprised if the two players end up costing more or less the same

Market is completely different after co-vid and sane has 1 year left on his deal.

Last year city wanted 100m euros reportedly.

Sven had us linked with Pepe the year before for 15m. And we went for suarez instead and he quit. Now we see how that played out sven looks like an absolute genius.
