It's not like Henry spent all his time playing with his back towards the goal. Just have the forwards play while they're facing the right way and good things will come. It doesn't fit Arteta's football, but we should drop this messed up system rather than spend all our time signing players to execute it a little better. We have a massive creatitivy issue and it's being exacerbated when we use the centreforward as a blunt tool and punt Auba out wide where he doesn't get any goalscoring opportunities. He's perfectly capable of playing off the wing but you have to get him on the end of chances, and we haven't done that.
Agreed, although I think that most of these issues are the result of the change to the 343 and the 'loss' of the #10 position/role, and the use of twin pivots at DM rather than CM to enable us to create the triangles when passing out from the back.
For example I don't recall Laca dropping as deep into the midfield before the change, whereas I think he used to look to drop into the same space between the lines as Ozil. I think the CF role changes if we revert to the 4231 or we play 433 with an inverted midfield 3. That said some of our positioning & play post the re-start and this season has looked much like a 541 off the ball and a 4222 with it in transition, with both Willian and AMN looking to play in the channels/half space between FB & CB but on different lines with AMN deeper and Willian higher. Likewise our width comes from Tierney and Bellerin but again on different lines.
