Every player witnessing our performances this season would struggle to be motivated to come here unless we promise big money or show them evidence that more top players are joining
Thomas Partey
I reckon we are being used to get him a new deal.

Agreed - we've supposedly offered to triple his current earnings.
Partey looks like a fantastic player. I highly doubt we're getting him.
too good for us. our only hope is to sign a player at the level partey was 4 years ago and develop him. it's a waste of time trying to play at this level of the market.

“It seems an open secret that Thomas Partey will leave Atletico this summer and join #AFC who will pay his €50m release clause. Atletico are studying three names as a potential replacement”
Finally decided to click on the thread. I've refused to pay any attention to the Partey rumours this summer because he's a player I've wanted for years and we seem a full tier below what he would go for as his big career move. Surely if he had a release clause and we wanted to activate it we would have done so though?
Ha hah! They’ve gotcha Klaus!
Arsenal will trigger Thomas Partey's release clause in the coming days to land the midfielder in a £45million deal

Possibly waiting to see if we get a europa place, which is still worth a few extra sheckles. And whether or not auba stays is an economic factor. Can't fathom why he'd want to come here though

Massive if it happens as it’s a real show of intent and would help us retain players we’d like to and attract others.
Won’t happen mind.
He's waiting to see if Saka will sign

It would be huge, xhaka is the only one to can get the ball out from the back currently when hes to playing luiz often just goes mad with thr long balls down the left channel. Xhakas passing is beautifully unpredictable short long and to both flanks. Teams are happy to stick 2 on him for an aggressive press. Because the other options do so little damage adding this partey would massively help our midfield.
2009 when we shook Flamini, Gilberto and the young Lass is the last time we had a midfield corps. I was watching Spurs Tuesday night. While Ndombele was sat on the bench, they had these meaty men who just run over opponents with or without the ball. Wardrobe-sized individuals. That was us in the days of Parlour and company. We need Partey plus 1. That will start to rebrand us not a soft touch
Xhaka's not meaty?
Meaty as in Rambo. Not meathead.

And Spurs fans think they are all shit and weak compared to the midfield when Poch was in charge.
Partey - Xhaka
-- Doucoure
That'd be a midfield that could protect the defence and actually transition the ball forward.

I can support that. Where do you have Saka? Is he fullback or wide forward in that?

Would be interesting to watch, but how much do you guys think Doucoure would cost?

He's contracted until 2023, which gives Watford some leverage if he doesn't have an out and they can generate an auction. Maybe £25-30m. If he has relegation clauses, then they might find themselves having to take lower
