10 minutes to penalties now.
I remember us being terrible and getting very lucky.
We were less terrible than I remember, but we got far luckier than I remember!
I watched that recently too. We've become so desensitized to humiliating batterings the last 10 years, it makes the 05 cup final look close fought in hindsight. It was a battering for the team of those days if man u had 60-70% of the game, which they did on that day
Exactly. We were poor for our standards but our standards were so high it shows.
It's one of my favourite games ever, actually. Not managing a single shot from open play in 120 minutes and keeping the trophy was so sweet after being robbed at Old Trafford that season.
It was bizarre as we played most of the second half with zero strikers.
Touré handled the ball in the box a few minutes before the end of the match, too.
Freddie's goal-line clearance kept us in it.
I didn't remember Reyes got sent off in the last second, too, which meant we had to go into penalties without Bergkamp, Pires, Reyes, or Thierry. Felt damn nervous back then.
