Exactly. That cup finally broke our trophyless run too, and it was the FA Cup that made us go ahead of United as the team that have won it the most times in history.
I recall us getting tonked by United in the cup in 07/08, and then there's the humiliating way we just laid down and died post Birmingham, crashing out of Champions League once again against an inferior side, Rosicky struggling to find his feet and then getting injured, Hleb going back to being bobbins once we stuck him wide again (and then the ice cream incident and subsequent forced move), Eboue playing most of the season on the wing, Eduardo breaking his leg, etc. Not many happy lasting memories from that season in retrospect. Just a bunch of traitors like Cesc, Flamini and Ade having good individual runs. Maybe it would have meant more if the dominant players hadn't turned out to be such absolute pieces of shit. The way things are I don't feel the slightest affection for a single one of them except Eduardo.
