To be fair, that's true for most long shots. Most of the time, taking the shot probably won't be the option leading to the highest xG.

It's the best time to face Newcastle. They looked absolutely knackered against Wolves yesterday and was lucky to get a point from a wrongly awarded pen.

And they have tons of injuries/suspensions.

Was horrid. Sometimes you need your striker to just make stuff happen when the team isn’t clicking. Be that through sheer hard graft, ruffling up the opposition defenders or through individual brilliance, Eddie just doesn’t seem capable of doing that, certainly not consistently.

Reported money for Toney looks silly now so probs not the answer. Boniface or Guirassy would give us some umph up top

Was dogshit today.

Too hot and cold. Sometimes plays like a man possessed, sometimes doesn’t give a shit.

Too random of a player to pin your hopes on. He’s like fucking Russian roulette. You can’t build a team like that.

His level is just not good enough, against Sheff utd it's fine but they are a terrible side and he's just doesn't have the level of consistency of quality we need.

Last night, I felt that I might as well have been up front as Eddie. I mean, obviously, I would have been rubbish - especially with my dodgy knee rendering me unable to run in any meaningful way - but really, what's the point of him? If Jesus is going to continue to be available only intermittently, then we have to do something else in January because we're not going to get through the biggest games with Mr Sometimes up top.

Don't want to pour onto him on yet another bad performance, I have already said my opinions of him previously.

It's not his fault, he is just a very very limited footballer. Not just a limited striker, but a limited footballer that don't have much unique strengths. Well done on scoring the hattrick against Sheffield United, but overall will never be at the level we require from a backup striker.

We won't win much with our current striking and goalie department.

Yeah this is why I've held off on praising Eddie whenever he's having his annual early season purple patch. Once he starts getting a run of games he reverts to his true level, which is somewhere between frustrating and average.

lorddulaarsenal Sell, he's more than had his chance. Very likeable and talented player, but not good enough for us. Welbeck level or less, he'll enjoy his career as a bench option at Brighton or Bournemouth.
