Eddie barely got the ball all game. That's definitely on him but it's on the team/tactics too. Jesus didn't get much more of the ball. We just couldn't link the midfield and front line. They marked Odegaard out of the game and the rest of our midfield couldn't find a ball through.
He had a poor game, but he's getting an unfair amount of hate for this result. It's on Arteta that he started and finished the game. He had plenty of options, once he realised it's not happening for Eddie.
This guy gets cut an endless amount of slack. He doesn't deserve it. He's been good here and there, that's it. Never great, and whenever he's shone it's been more about how poorly everyone else has played.
He's the opposite of a multiplier. He makes everyone around him worse. He's a divider.
Coombs He's the opposite of a multiplier. He makes everyone around him worse. He's a divider.
That's harsh but have to say I loled hard at that.
Seeing him live made me presto much instantly realise he isn’t up to the standard we need. He really lacks presence and his technique can’t compensate consistently annd frequently enough.
It’s more a case of wanting to see different attributes in our striker for me. I want someone who has presence and combines well with players.
wasn't impressed with his effort levels either. everyone looked really leggy against spurs after 30 minutes, but eddie didn't play against PSV so I expected him to be tearing around the pitch and being an energy leader. odegaard was the guy doing that, but wasn't backed up properly by eddie
Keep going young man, and keeping trying new things out there
KingslandBarge he had a good game against Bournemouth. He's doing a lot of stuff he doesn't get enough credit for, his link play and general passing has really developed. He keeps winning us penalties too. I reckon that push in the back would have been a bigger issue had we not already been well ahead when it happened, see those ones given more often than you don't.
Hit a purple patch, score a lot of goals. Get called up for England. Score a couple too.
And if we are luck we can sell for 50mill at end of season.
I can't stand Nketiah, way too basic for me. Always tunnel vision in important moments.
Clrnc
I don't think that was too bad, but yeah he's not the most aware of his surroundings. There was one last week I think where he was clearly offside but stole it off Ode's feet anyway.
He can serve a purpose off the bench though, adds a directness when things are not going too well. But really needs to learn to take up good positions in the box.
He's been as productive as anyone else at CF this season, his goals and the penalties he's won have been important. We need a first XI striker next year but at the moment Eddies doing ok when he plays.
Qwiss says more about the state of our CF play that this clearly mid-to-low table premier league player is as productive as any other arsenal CF. arteta, do foggin better.
He's a very blunt blunt instrument
He's imperfect but don't think he's the reason we're a bit goal-shy this season - the issue is our lack of creativity.
FEBravo thats sort of the level I see him at too. Which is why I'm comfortable with him as a squad option.
Meatwad yeah says something about our options but it says something about our supply to those options too. Don't think we are doing well by our CFs.
Is he better than Watkins or Calvert-Lewis or one of those strikers on these other teams? Genuine question. I think he’d do well at that level with more space, able to use his pace and not face packed defences.
FEBravo he'd be great for Palace or West Ham.
If you are shit at least make yourself useful.
Terrible sub performance, shit body language and couldn’t hold the ball up properly.
What use does he have when he doesn’t score? Any striker the from promoted teams can ‘work hard’.
He’s not a bad player but he’s not great. We need a great player up top to be where we want to be. He’s also a bad fit stylistically and therefore he’s erratic.
He can fill that Ivan Toney shaped hole at Brentford
