I knew he was going to have a poor game after 5 mins. He has no presence has a striker and gives up too easily.

We should have really spent that Havertz money on a striker. Toney in Jan please, make Eddie 3rd striker at best.

Did absolutely nothing in today's game. Just awful. Looked like Mikel had brought a sprinter from the local athletics club to come play as our striker.

He’s never going to be what we really need mate. Too hot and cold but a little adversity and he is done for. Didn’t even press properly at times today.

There was a spell last season where he looked electric. Pace to burn and was rolling defenders. Now he just looks like a youth prospect again.

We need more of a presence up top. Toney would improve us though I do think we should aim higher. Maybe treat ourselves to Boniface

Eddie can play against anyone not in the top 10. He gets easily marked out of games against decent opposition. He's average.

This is Eddie this week. He had a very similar pass map in the last game. He is a complete black hole in this offense. We would have been much better off with Jesus and Nelson .

Qwiss I’ve been consistent about Eddie. Remember I advocated playing a midfielder ahead of him when Jesus went down last year.

What form? A goal coming off the bench v Fulham is great but I’ve said he’s shit from day 1.

He’s marginally improved but if you take away his ‘fox in the box’ finishing which is not flawless (he still misses big chances) then he offers very little.

Qwiss the problem is his supposedly "good form" is barely acceptable at best. We are praising him for things that should be bread and butter or clutching at his improvements because he was so bad at those basics previously

The reality is Eddie just isn't good enough. That's not really news too anyone but his quality is much lower then what we should aim for. Even Jesus isn't an elite striker but Eddie isn't in that good category either. We have seen enough to know that had not a player we can have leading games for us and not big matches. He was totally not involved at all today

Personally don't think it's that much down to Nketiah how things went.

Put the responsibility where it belongs: with Arteta for selecting Nketiah and Jesus in the same side. It was dumb, coulda told you that before kickoff.

eddie really wasnt good. he is a square peg in our attack. if everyone else is flying, he can put in some decent performances, but thats about it

Not a big fan of Nketiah, but I don't think he's a problem in our squad. For me, Jesus is our best striker and when Jesus can't play, we should use Trossard there like last season. If Trossard is injured or has to play in another position (since he can play everywhere), then Nketiah steps in at striker.

He's only a problem when we use him more than we should. For example, if instead of using ESR/Nelson on the left wing, we push Jesus out wide to cram Nketiah into the lineup.

Eddie barely got the ball all game. That's definitely on him but it's on the team/tactics too. Jesus didn't get much more of the ball. We just couldn't link the midfield and front line. They marked Odegaard out of the game and the rest of our midfield couldn't find a ball through.

He had a poor game, but he's getting an unfair amount of hate for this result. It's on Arteta that he started and finished the game. He had plenty of options, once he realised it's not happening for Eddie.
