I thought he had a good game on the whole; precisely the sort of thankless, hardworking performance people used to accuse him of not being capable of when he was just emerging in the U23 one or two years ago. There was one clearcut chance where he turned like an old lady, but I reckon like everyone else he expected Maitland-Niles to shoot instead of passing the ball there, and the first touch messed up the chance as a result.
This type of hard work is obviously what Arteta wants out of a centreforward, and I think Eddie has shown he can measure up in that regard. With a few more creative players in the side there'll be more opportunities to score too, and he definitely has the skills to sniff out and convert chances.
