And sorry to hear of the angst everyone’s experiencing. If the thought of yourself or someone you know contracting COVID-19 and reacting in a bad way isn’t frightening enough, then the worry of what the world will be like after all this is over is bound to exhaust you mentally.

Strange old times but there are things to look forward too!

and yeah 94-97 was ridiculous, but they didn't get lost in the shuffle for me because i was all about wu-tang, mobb deep and outkast, still am. there use to be this music club called columbia house (and bmg was another). i use to sign up for them and get the free cds and buy the number at regular price that you needed to satisfy the contract. i got a bunch of cds during that time period from those clubs.

All of those are still in rotation this side too. But no album plays as much as Illmatic. Then there’s Aquemini, Reasonable Doubt. And the Soulquarian shit from later that decade. Did you listen to that Jay record yet?

A lot us were in denial early on. I think what’s amazing is the speed at which people became concerned. Some folks were concerned in January and others are only now becoming enlightened. A world where digital platforms were supposed to make information instantaneously available, that’s an enormous failure. We are basically back in the 1930s. What’s the point of all this progress if all the tools in the world for creating transparency do not enable that but are instead manipulated by the wily to misinform and mislead? It’s one thing when we are dealing with politics but when we deal with an exponentially expanding virus that doesn’t discriminate, that’s truly disturbing

My elderly next door neighbour died yesterday. A few days ago my 5 year old called me because there was a "lazer light show" outside, turned out it was 2 ambulances. Very weird seeing the paramedics going in and out covered in plastic and masks. Turned out she didn't have it but just choked on some fruit. I feel so bad for her family. All her kids on the night she went to hospital were in the garden, afraid to go into the house cos they didn't know if she'd had it. Couldn't hug each other or comfort their father. Now they can't have a proper funeral. My other neighbour was extremely close to her and is upset she can't visit the family or help them because she's also elderly and cocooning. Its a horrible situation all round.

If you like the first Outkast release you should try this album

yeah once the discussion started on mobb my mind switched to my favorite groups. but yeah early nas is probably my favorite rapper. his bravehearts nonsense phase pissed me off, but illmatic and it was written will make you forgive a lot of sins.

and just to show my lack of paying attention to any new releases these days, i didn't know jay had new music out. last album i listened to from him was 4:44 a few years ago.

Was talking about Jay Electronica “A Written Testimony”. It’s basically a group effort with Jay Z. It’s good. But yeah,I listened to 4:44 once and was done with it.

Thanks guys. Much appreciated. I kept it to myself and wasn't going to post it on here because I didn't want to put a downer on this place but kel's comment kind of got to me and made me feel like I needed to say something.

The numbers as a percentage may be small but actual numbers of people fighting for their lives is massive. It most certainky is something terrible and we cannot afford to downplay what we are contending with here. It's genuinely scary thinking about how many lives will be lost until a vaccine can be created.

Once again, stay safe everyone, I wish you all good health, patience and a willingness to help those in need during these tough times.
