I've resigned myself to a long haul. I think it'll ease up slightly in 3 months or so but it'll be a long time until things get back to normal completely
Yep, absolutely nothing we can do but hang in there.
I'm envisaging that as time goes by there will be some interesting and creative ideas on how to get people out and socialising at a distance.
I've gone full on old school and I'm listening to radio most of the day, I find it more sociable and relaxing, more real and community orientated for some reason. I turn it off around now though when the "news" shows come on.
Since the subject of radio was brought up: Have you ever listened to old school radio dramas, Y va? Virtually all of them are in the public domain nowadays and cost nothing to download. They have that certain feel to them that you don't quite get from anything else. They replaced podcasts for me a long time ago as the travelling alternative to music.
Here's a short article with some suggestions: https://eu.usatoday.com/story/tech/columnist/saltzman/2016/03/25/webs-best-kept-secret-thousands-free-classic-radio-dramas/82204502/
Good list of some radio dramas rereleased in podcast form: https://www.podchaser.com/lists/vintage-radio-shows-aka-old-school-audio-drama-107ZzndWPm
Orson Welles' productions from The Mercury Theatre On The Air are incredibly entertaining: https://www.mercurytheatre.info/
Leonard Nimoy and John de Lancie (who played Q on Star Trek: The Next Generation) did a project together in the early 00s too called Alien Voices where they turned a few golden age scifi stories into radio plays. These still cost a few bucks to download but they're really amazing: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alien_Voices
