It would be anything but brilliant. What's the point when Eddie and Martinelli are both a year or two away from being regulars by the looks of it? We need an experienced, established forward so we'd have to find one anyway if he goes. It makes no sense.

People have to stop obsessing over player value and start thinking about what's best for us on the pitch. If Laca loses some market value it's nothing compared to the gains we'll make if keeping him helps us to get back into Champions League and buys us more time to develop youngsters.

This idea that people need to stop obsessing over player value is misguided. When you build a squad you need to think about

buying complementary players who fit your playing style
having the right age mix

We have done neither of these things really well historically. The first results in waste because we have spend too much money on one position while another position is empty. The second is a problem because too many young players means inexperience and buying too many old players means that capital evaporates. You have to get the balance right. Unfortunately, we consistently have been allocating money in all the wrong areas of the matrix described. Gabriel, Aouar, Pépé, etc. we need more of that.

Nah I don't mind even distribution. Like Klaus alluded to I don't like clubs being rewarded for doing nothing but be part of a marketing scheme, especially when you see how they squander both money and talent which would be better used elsewhere. Haller was one of the best central forwards in Europe in his last season now he looks like shit for West Ham

Also they ruin the market for every non English club

surprising considering your politics. people get rewarded for doing nothing but being born in the right place every day.

west ham didn't make haller shit, maybe he just struggled to adapt in his first season or isn't good enough. we didn't turn laca, xhaka, mustafi, etc into the players they are now, they came and weren't good enough.

With the exception of when Nketiah got suspended and subsequently lost his place, he was better most of the time than Laca last year. In fact it's pretty worrying how much Laca deteoriated physically. And it's not only about his goals, his touches and acceleration is way off these days.

I suspect he won't be starting most of the time anyway with Willian in the line up.

Sell while you can. Stop holding on to old and somewhat useless players as fillers till their contract run out

He was honestly the best player in the league in the first half of his last season at Frankfurt. Lead the league in goals, assists, duels and aerial duels in January still ahead of Auba and Lewandowski, no overrating there I watched every single match of his.

Look at who West Ham have bought over the years. Fornals Anderson Yarmolenko Haller even Tevez looked shit there, all players who were linked with big European clubs at some point. Only Payet was a success for them. How are you supposed to look good under fossils like Moyes and Allardyce anyway.

Its the sort of players they can get though. There is a reason most of them weren't signed by CL clubs. There is a level of risk involved in all those players, Yarmolenko for instance had already underperformed in the Bundesliga. Fornals was never anything special in Spain either. Anderson was good for them in his first season, probably the best season of his career individually.

Haller should have been a better signing for them but he might still be.

Yarmolenko failed in Dortmund because the club was in transition plus he moved too late. Also had personal issues and seems like a prick anyway, talent wasn't the problem though. Felipe Anderson was way better for Lazio than for West Ham come on. Not just in terms of end product his overall game was way more explosive.

Fornals was not overly special in the way Modric wasn't early on for Spurs, similar players in style and substance. I'd have bitten your hand off after that game where he dominated Madrid in the Bernabeu and topped his performance with this goal

Not sure what you're arguing here. Do you think these players who have performed the way they did abroad are only good enough for West Ham?

Formals and Haller is in their first season. Judge them in their 2nd, especially they werent regulars towards the end anyway.

Yarmolenko is doing very well until he got that serious injury. To be honest under their previous manager Lanzini and Felipe Anderson was torching up the pitch

Fair enough if that's your opinion. I think you regularly underrate most players outside England.
