The fact we pulled out of Van Der Beek because of money, highlights that we need to get rid of what we don’t want.
This is from very flaky information so take with a pinch of salt but I've seen from a few reliable people on Twitter that that in the last few days that our attention has turned to Aouar. These people generally don't talk much about transfers or get involved in this ITK business. I don't think we walked away from VDB because of money, I think Aouar might have become a realistic option so have turned our attention to him.
I think the club probably see a few sales going through as well or maybe we will start acting like a big club and do our buying first and then sell later?

I'd take it too. I think it's a mistake to wait and think prices will be better next summer. What if this whole season ends up being played in front of empty, or mostly empty, stands? That's a ton of gate income clubs will be missing out on. 12 months from now he might be unsellable, and in the meantime we've kept spending millions on his wages.
Bit of a side point but you'd think there would be great value in selling the rest of the games not on TV? Surely they could make up a lot of the lost gate revenue? Unless the current providers have clauses preventing that.
Hopefully we can buy, without having to actually sell first, but the club probably wants to make sure there is enough coming in.
Aouar would be astounding, really would.
On your side point, if Covid starts messing with revenue in this up coming season, the bigger clubs will undoubtedly want to have more flexibility in selling some of their own rights.
Man United, Liverpool, Chelsea, City, and ourselves would absolutely make a killing on the open market.
