Luiz is fine. His mistake rate shot up at Arsenal as has happened with all other defenders in the past decade. I think his distinctive buffoonish features prime us to have certain misconceptions about him - similar to Ozil with his sleepy face.

But this is a guy who has won big trophies across Europe and has attracted £120m in transfer fees throughout his career - by far the most on our team. He can't be as bad as he seems. He just probably becoming more volatile with age. But we saw a supreme defender on Saturday. Nobody else on this squad would probably give us that performance

I don't understand this idea that he only plays in 5. He has typically played in a 4 at Chelsea and PSG. In the 2014 World Cup, even though Brazil went down in flames, he partnered the great Thiago in a 4, and he was chosen in the squad of the tourney. This guy has had some incredible highs to go with his lows. He can play in a 4 and he can compete with the best. The idea that he's some Championship defender who can only play in a 5 is absolute misinformation

I agree with that but he has looked genuinely class in the past when played as a part of back 3 at Chelsea and even at PSG (with Thiago & Marquinhos).

Will never touch Stones. Like I mentioned with Mustafi, composure and football intelligence can never be improved and Stones is stupid as hell with zero awareness.

The two-way defender I want is Upamecano. There is nothing he can't do. He still has some growing up to do in decision making but is good on the ball and is reminiscent of Sol in his defensive abilities. I'd be happy to wait to give the guy a £20m signing bonus in December.

Have seen Benrahma linked to CFC of late & would not think we'd have 41m to activate Joelson's release clause.
Have not seen Pereira from WBA but he tops The Championship in both Key Passes and Assists and rates 2nd to Benrahma in individual ratings.
The BIG advantage Benrahma has over the likes of Pereira or Buendia is his goal involvement = 17 goals and 8 assists for the season in The Championship. If we need to replace PEA on the left AND look for goals then Benrahma is worth a look as a wide forward.

Would much rather get someone like Pape Gueye or Mady Camara than Danilo Pereira. The price can't be that different. Ceballos' loan extension with an option to buy and Camara will do very well for this summer in midfield if we are going to continue with this 3-4-3.

Pape Gueye is out of question as he just signed for Marseille. Plus I am certain he is going to be a subject of a lot of law suits between Watford and Marseille this summer.

How about someone like Doucore if Watford go down ? He is used to the league, has qualities which we lack and most likely to make a step up in terms of performance when playing for a team better than Watford.
