Lots of rumours that Barcelona and Real both interested in Guendouzi. Would be sad if he went to Real, was made to watch Kroos and Modric for 2 years and grew into an actual midfielder. We would look like assholes.

Just make sure they pay his worth. If we can get a big fee for an undeveloped junior player we have to go for it. We could convert that money into a new starting player. It's how we move forward right now.

If someone offered what I think clubs will offer for Guendouzi I'd do it. But I rate Willock higher, think his market value is much lower, and I don't see the need to ship young talents in general. What makes this appealing is that it might be an opportunity to get a high-value fee for a low-performing player who we'll otherwise have to put a lot of costly development into, just to make him good enough for this level.

Wow. That’s a boatload.
If Aubameyang demands 4 years at that amount, that would be a £60m outlay.
If we could somehow find a way to convince Real Madrid to retool with Aubameyang, and took on Jovic in return, we’d be on the hook for around £35m over the same period if he kept his wage. And he would still have resale value of at least £60m assuming he’s still in contract by the end. That’s a net £80-90m differential before you factor in their relative on-field performances over the 4 years. This is the argument for selling Aubameyang and finding a high quality younger man. Not just anyone. It’s risky but the reason our squad is worth less than half our rivals is because we keep running down players.

He certainly looks further back than Guendouzi. The offer different qualities that can be useful but I feel like we would regret a Willock sale less.

Neither of them have to be the right answer ultimately, but I think Willock has bigger qualities as a box to box midfielder and he seems like a physically tougher player too. I constantly see Guendouzi being bullied off the ball.

I think Douzi would do really well at a club / fanbase like Dortmund. Can easily see him being worth £60m+ after a season there. Having said that we should absolutely sell him if anyone offer £40m+ and use that on Partey.

Precisely Salzburg are a first level club. He's supposed to go to finishing school at Dortmund or Lyon now before being snapped for double the price by City and the like.

These are just like venture capital funding rounds. Guys with a high risk appetite and a special ability to nurture the project come in early. And then low risk guys come in later at a high valuation. We are neither. Just mugs looking at the wealth multiplying around us.

There are other players at Salzburg who we should look at. Especially the Zambian duo of Patson Daka and Mwepu.

Patson is another high potential player. He played for the big Zambian team Power Dynamos and made his big European move. He's doing really well, and had a hat trick recently. Red Bull is a gold mine. Might be too early to buy him though unless you're doing a Saliba type deal.

I think one thing they are doing based on Haidara who joined their sister club and Keita who is at Liverpool is trying to be the best at sourcing African talent. That can be a real source of value.

Yes Daka is really interesting, look ready to explode at a high level. Same for Hwang.

Just look at the amount of players who exploded after leaving Salzburg. Unreal talent scouting there

Their team seems to be breaking up though.

Paul Mitchell who was their head of recruitment is leaving to join Monaco to take over as the sporting director.

Rangnick who was the man at the Red Bull sporting ventures (Leipzig + Salzburg) is all but confirmed to take over at Milan as the new head coach/sporting director and will bring in a bunch of his guys with him.

Even with our club in a bit of a state, surely Rangnick becoming DoF isn't enough for Milan and Serie A to trump a move to Arsenal and the Premier League?

I would be so excited by this. I'm not sure which position exactly he'll develop into because he has such a broad range of qualities that I could see his developing into an elite player at '6', '8', '10' or even as a Pires-like inverted wide player. His talent puts him in the very elite for his age whatever the player he becomes. And that set-piece delivery! It really would be quite the signing.

Sign this guy, sell the dross, sign the best centre back we can buy, sign Partey and Ousmane Dembélé, and give Aubameyang a new contract. Those would be my moves if I were running Arsenal this summer.

For sure. I'd take 45 mil for Douzi without batting an eyelash. Bring more kids like him and Martinelli in as well as Partey, do it all over again. No good if we sell him for 17m, though.

For me, this guy is the Ozil replacement. He can take either one of the positions at the top of the V that Saka and Ceballos occupy. He has that penetration that we are missing that Ceballos's lack of power is just not giving us right now. He's an incredible creator and able to score. Plus he's just big and strong. Reminds me a bit of SMS. I will be blown away if we bring in Szoboszlai and Partey. Our midfield will just be much more skilled and beefier next year. He is the truth.

I like Ceballos a lot, but he would probably cost the double of Szbzzolszoblai. I'd love this, but not getting my hopes up.

Who am I kidding, I am getting my hopes up.
