Yeah. That transfer ban would've been a blessing in disguise. They've used it to get rid of players, promote youth and buy some impressive players. That's Pool, City and Chelsea clear of us then. Just United left to wrap up top 4 for next year and put us out of our misery like lame racehorses.

Why are you comparing those clubs to us? We need to look around us and be wary of Leicester, Everton, Newcastle (if the takeover goes through) etc. If we are not careful we might lose top 7, although we are already not top 7 this year

If we had a ban like that we'd have panicked and given Welbeck and Jenkinson massive new deals.

Because I don't care about Leicester, Everton and Newcastle.
It may be that we are in 9th, but our ambition should be to be a top 4 club and to eventually challenge for the title. Every move we make should be with that in mind. How do we make top 4 end of next year and compete for the title in 2021-22! What Everton, Leicester and Newcastle are up to is not of relevance to us while we pursue this ambition unless we genuinely believe one of them is trying to position itself to win the title in the next 2-3 years.

We don’t have the finances or the appeal of a top 4 club. Presently we are getting by on a quickly fading not so recent history. Our manager doesn’t have the profile to help us when we are recruiting players. All our half decent players are abandoning ship or attempting felony extortion, even Saka is yet to sign on... Barring a sugar daddy takeover, we aren’t competing for the title anytime soon.

They get almost 200m for Hazard and Morata. We got absolutely nothing for Sanchez and Mkhi, got weighted down on a huge contract for a nothing player and now looks set to lose Auba either on a free or on a cheap.

How are we expected to compete with incompetent deals like this.

Forgot about Saka still stalling on a contract. Shouldn’t be a struggle securing an 18 year old’s contract. We really are a carcrash of a football club.
