Rumblings in spain of a coutinho-auba swap. Don't want
😆 As if Sanchez-Mkhi wasn't bad enough, this would give poor Klaus a heart attack.
Seriously though, that's such an awful deal. Nobody wants Coutinho, they've been shopping him around for a year now.
It would be monumentally stupid from a strategic perspective. 28yr old on a huge salary when you're trying to build a squad for the future.
I don't buy it for a second. Classing bullshit from Spain.
Would confirm that kia runs the place of that happens. I did wonder how much sway he would have once his client edu became our sporting director
I would just stop watching if that happened. Would be evidence that KSE don’t care
I've only seen Coutinho to Newcastle going 'round.
People need to realise Auba is 31 and will be 32 when his contract ends. He isn’t going to fetch any significant money, and has another season maybe 2 left in him. Either keep him, or do a deal which is too good to turn down.
And you think getting Coutinho in return is such a deal?
Coutinho is still a very good player who is proven in the Premiership.
Plus we are severely lacking on the technical ability front
Mikel Arteta wants to make Philippe Coutinho an integral part of his Arsenal setup in the coming years, with the player seen as 'perfect' to fit into Arsenal's style. Barcelona keen on getting the player off their wage bill. The 2 clubs are some way apart in valuation. [ @abc_es]
#FCB have made it clear to Coutinho's camp that they want his situation resolved by June 30. #AFC have already made contacts with the player's entourage. Arteta knows the player personally and believes Coutinho could reignite Arsenal's offensive line [ @SPORT]
And our "friend" Kia Joorabchian said "everything is possible".

I would get him in on loan, and then see what happens, but at the moment the little money we have needs to go in a CM and a CB.

Other than pressing and a fantastic long shot, he is very hit and miss these days
Two qualities we absolutely need.
He’d also relish playing on the carpet every other game.
Still remember that game he opened us with ease - granted most attackers did that but not to the level Pip did

He doesn't have the pace to play in the frontline or the physicality that you like in a midfielder. Where would you play him?
Surely he'd be that technical, inventive wide playmaker type on the left wing? Don't have to be particularly quick in that role. As long as he has the stamina for the modern pressing requirements though.

Not in a swap deal, but certainly would take a loan with option to buy. He could have a similar impact as Cesc had when he left Barca to join Chelsea.
For Coutinho advocates, what overall strategy does he fit into? What would the vision be?
If Ousmane Dembele passes a medical and looks clear, we should take him for anything around 40m pounds. He has a significant but not outrageous salary (200,000). If he can get back on track, could be the kind of wily purchase that Wenger used to look for in the Pires, Henry days.
As talented as they come, but his injury problems are a big worry. Though in our situation to get great players we have to go for those with some sort of baggage.
