I think Özil definitely matched that, although it didn't pan out the way anyone wanted he was a world class player and the same age as Partey. Alexis Sanchez to a lesser degree as well.

Dude, Ozil and Sanchez were 24 and 25. Despite being unwanted at Real and Barca, they were two of the best players in their positions in the world. They just arrived into chaos

We haven’t had many top signings who don’t come under the sloppy seconds bracket

Off the top of my head I’d say Sol, Pires, Arshavin, Pepe have been in the sweetspot - the rest were either those with potential or something to prove following a period where they hadn’t hit the heights expected

I don't think there's a chance of this happening, but supposing it did, do we think it's to play alongside Xhaka, or in his place?

I'm hoping our financial situation means Xhaka is going to leave this summer.

Xhaka needs to go, Goon. We need an overhaul like the homie Jazz said. Edu must get to work and just dump the spine. Ideally there's someone else energetic next to Partey so you have a lively midfield. Opportunity beckons in these covidian times

Partey-Torreira or Partey-Willock would be immense.

Definitely. Will be interesting to see how he progresses as he matures physically. Had a natural engine, times his runs forward well, composed in front of goal, and his attitude looks solid.

Yeah. He might need a loan. Not sure why everyone is touting him to be a starter, no where near ready

I thought Willock would have has a more consistent season so far given the early promise, but feel he probably does need a loan. Would like to see him try his luck in France as would be interesting to see how he compares to other French talents in their environment.

Really want us to complete the signing of Partey and hopefully early. All other positions for strengthening we can make accommodations for if budget is an issue, but we really need that DM one sorted pronto.

Barca has offered Semedo + Umtiti for Spurs flop Ndombele.

Two players they want to ship in exchange for one classy player who hasn't adapted well to Spurs. Sounds like a good deal for Barca to me. No way would Lyon have accepted that trade last summer. Semedo is a nothing player and Barca have been trying to get rid of Umtiti for years. I really hope Spurs accept, it'd be one more reason to laugh at them.

Calling Ndombele a flop is OTT. He's been injured quite a bit and arrived straight into a terrible Mourinho shitshow of a Spurs team.

I definitely hope Spurs move Ndomble on before they end up sacking Jose. He'd be way better under another manager.
