If players don't want that it wont happen. You can't force people to extend a contract.

It’s a tough one. For the players to play, they need some certainty. Would players make associations agree to Month to month contracts for out of contract players? That leaves them so exposed if the league situation is not clarified. it is a tricky one to resolve

I don't think it was about forcing players to do so, but about changing the current regulations so that it can happen if the clubs and players wanted to do so.

Wow - thought they'd be pretty keen to keep him and would encourage a bidding war if they were to let him go as a number of PL clubs are reportedly interested.

Seen reports we may be interested in securing Coutinho and Griezmann on loan - apparently they have been offered around to get them off their wages.

Also saw something about Barca talking to players to agree to a wage reduction so the club can reduce its wages bill for the remainder of the season - something about 1bn as it stands?

TBH without CL if we are unable to retain PEA and Laca then we have little to no chance of signing Partey or Upamechano.

I’m not holding out for Rob. I’m also wondering just how injured he’s been this season. Has he been completely unable to play or has Arteta pulled an AMN on him? Mustafi despite his clown ways featured a lot because of his good passing. If Arteta wants to play like Guardiola, then less skilled passers like Sokratis as well will be dumped
