Guendouzi is basically fodder now, so swapping him for anyone we feel can add to the squad is a no-brainer.

Kovacic was the fans player of the season for last season. He's an excellent all-rounder. Good control, plays well off Junior to advance the ball, and an excellent tackler. A steely B2B.

CHO situation is interesting. He's technically gifted, but as the natural wide option has Mount (a central mid) playing ahead of him. He will also have Pulisic and now Ziyech ahead of him. Lampard's comments on him sounds similar to Arteta re AMN where a young player needs to focus more. He's incredibly talented, but can our squad carry another project?

Don't forget about his bumper wages too. I thought it was madness by Chelsea to give him that contract when he had hardly delivered on the pitch.

I wouldn't take either Kante or Kovacic. It's bad enough we took Willian.

I thought Tammy Abraham was the most interesting option - could probably take him to replace lacazette immediately and then flip him in a few years for a good price depending on performance.

The left field one is Loftus-Cheek who is excellent if he isn't totally fucked by injuries.

Kovacic isn't going to be swapped by Chelsea, he's been a starter there since he joined. They aren't trading him away for Douzi. I also don't think he's good enough for us to try and force the issue either, he's solid but not much more. A midfield of Xhaka, Kovacic and Ceballos certainly doesn't excite me.

Don't want Kante either, he's a player on the way down.

Kante has always been excellent at 1 thing - ball winning - but the rest of his game lags behind a bit. You wonder if he's physically waning a little as well. Man plays at 150% for the last 4 years

Didn't Pep want him badly when he was at Napoli, I can see why Arteta would want him too. Would effectively be a replacement for Xhaka.
