Who is on the bus?

Mid table squad.
Of those I would keep Leno , Auba, Saka , Martinelli , Pepe , Nelson , Eddie ,Ceballos ,Saliba ,Willock, Smith Rowe , Tierney and Mari. The rest need to go and better replacements brought in.

Whatever happened to the statement that they were going to sell players if they didn't re-sign with 2 years left? We are in just as much shit contract wise as we were under Eggman.

We're arguably worse off because according to most rumours we're not even offering satisfactory wages this time to the few players that are actually good, like Auba and Saka.

This is why we should've been more proactive the last 2 years in dumping players.
I think ultimately the Kroenke family does not know how to do squad management for winning. Nothing that I'm seeing makes any sense. They're constantly destroying value instead of creating it.

Btw, can anyone post the the James McNicholas article. I'm out of free reads.

Its a terrible situation, and given the current covid economy we are in dire straits.

We have a really healthy depth at CB, but not sure about the quality. The good news is Mavropanos is looking really good in his loan spell.

The problem is broader, Klaus. To isolate it to just losing good players misses the point.

There is an overall lack of a larger purpose. We do not have a target state that we are moving towards, and I think the players know this. The lack of strategy is why we have rubbish players staying forever and good players leaving quickly.

If we had clarity that we our budget was restricted, then our player recruitment profile would change completely. We would buy much younger stars and sell them for profit, but there were would be a clear value creation approach. Right now though you don't even see that. Just value depletion

If Raul was worth having he'd be using his connections this summer to get us good money for players we don't want. So far the only good outgoing business we've managed was for Iwobi who we weren't really trying to move on anyway.

Can Kroenke just get the fuck out of our club already. I’m tired of his ass. We are NEVER going to see top 4 again with him as an owner. Quite confident of that.

The blueprint is to get young, and Luiz is one of our oldest players. Sok, Chambers/Holding and Saliba sounds good by me, and I have some minor hopes for Mava.

So you spend £15m on him for one season when you look at TCO? That is not joined up thinking. This is why I say with teams like Pool and City, you can see them working towards a target end state. With just, there’s nothing. We just grab whatever we can when we can. And throw away so much money in the process.

I think we've wasted quite a bit of money on short term signings in the hopes that it would secure us top 4 on the likes of Sokratis and Luiz. I've never felt it's the right approach, but I do get the reasoning.

You win some you lose some, he's been our first choice defender this year but with us having to cut back on wages it makes sense not to extend. I'm just glad we have the option to cut ties now rather than being stuck with someone for 3 years who we don't want here.

I'd personally rid ourselves of all three old guys and stick with Saliba, Mari, Holding, Chambers and Mavropanos. That gives us 300k in savings without really losing anything.

I liked what i saw of chambers before the injury. I hope he comes back in good shape
