Ornstein says we will offload Sokratis, Holding, Mustafi.

So if we don't renew Luiz, we will be left with Chambers, Saliba, Mavropanos and if we sign up Mari.

It is also revealed by Amy Lawrence that " It cost up to £24 million for a one season deal for David Luiz including all intermediary fees and add-ons. "

I think it's weird to include wages in that, as we'd have to keep paying them if we kept him. 15m to acquire him was still a lot if we only intended to keep him one year, but I'm guessing we didn't. Nevertheless it wouldn't be rational to make that decision now based on how much we paid for him.

192k per week is just insane to pay for a one year stop gap. 6m agent fees... my goodness. What a bunch of retards we have. 24m and we can't recoup a single cent from it.

If you think about it, Upamecano for example for 50m and 100k per week, with great resale value too would cost us much lesser after 5 years.

I'd jump for joy if we got rid of those three. Not fussed if Luiz goes or stays for one more year - he's obviously a big figure in the squad and did decently under Arteta so far.

Mavropanos might just make it with us, he's impressed on loan. Nevertheless, we need that proper CB signing, in addition to Mari.

Amazing. Not only is he old, shit and a chav; he ended up costing us more than Özil did this season. One of the most useless transfers I've ever seen.

Why would anyone agree to pay that much for Luiz? He was 32 years old, almost a free agent and Chelsea agreed to let him go while he wanted to move only to us, makes absolutely no sense.

Same reason we signed Soares I wager. Sounds like we've been trying to grease up agents and middlemen.

Nobody greases up middle men just to ensure they have to money when good players are available.

Luiz was a real panic by when kos left it would have been Mustafi all season.

8 folks is a lot. All of these guys have some combination of professionalism/attitude or capability issue that is inconsistent with a longterm top 4 ambition. I could toss in more but that's more than enough disruption for one summer.

Ceballos will obviously be leaving too. Not sure Cedric Soares counts for much given he is yet to even make the bench.

I'd add Torreira too. Partly because I don't rate him that highly and also because he could bring in a good amount of money.

I would find a way to extend or buy Ceballos on the cheap. Torreira can go to Gazidis. He owes us for neutering us

Good list. Add Auba due to contract issues. Ceballos too. It's a lot of change. Don't think the club have the balls.
