Edu shares accountability for our current failures, but has strong incentives both to skirt around that now by sacking the manager, and in future by helping to hire a new one who won't challenge his regime and preferences.
The choice of firing Arteta and hiring any new manager won't belong solely to him, but I question whether he has the demonstrated experience and talent to hold an office that has such authority at the club—if it does. The thought worries me, but these are the hazards of rapid change in a more complex structure.
