That's the thing I knew he'd come out saying how great we were look at the second half. If the opposition are so comfortable as to let you have total possession, which is what mourinho did, and you don't do anything then I seriously question your judgement. Who is in that team saying Arteta this isn't good.

He's obviously not happy, but to be fair to him there isn't a lot Arteta can say or do right now. The only option is to keep backing himself and hope we'll get a few results to buy him more time. Abandoning everything and going back to the drawing board is just another way to get sacked. Admitting that we've spent a year on forging a kind of football that doesn't create any chances is the same thing as saying your process doesn't work, having previously asked the players and fans to trust the process. It is what it is now and will have to play out whichever way it does.

Not only has he lost the fans, he's going to lose the dressing room as well at this rate as well (after those post match comments).

What kind of manager says the "stats are in our favour" with 2 shots on target? Even his excuses are sub par. There's literally nothing about him that makes me optimistic at this moment.

Of course, Arteta has no option but people in the club and around him should be able to realise and say this isn't good enough.

I really hope people recognize that those stats are a crisis. In a 3 point system, we will inevitably end up in trouble with these trends, especially given that they stretch into last season.
That’s why we probably need to pull the plug here. If he was trending long term towards mid-table, he could buy himself time to develop his ideas. But we need to get ahead of a potential crisis here.

Agree Claudius, the underlying stats are screaming not good enough. Today you have Arteta saying outwardly that things will come good we'll get goals they'll come. Not on these stats they won't and Arteta may speak very well but the board have data now and this is not good if they choose to ignore it they are everything we feared about them.

Now that we are closer to the bottom 3 than the top 4, if things continue like this getting outplayed and taken apart and not looking like scoring or even competing with anyone, at what point do we start having to nervously look at 18th?

Not seriously talking about it, but looking at our form and the table wondering when it might start to become a concern if things continue like this. What game do you genuinely see the next point coming in? Or goal for that matter?

Seriously, what the fuck compelled him to hire Stuivenberg, the bloke who ran United into the ground together with Louis van Gaal? We play the same soulcrushing football they did right now, and there's one common denominator between the two teams. It's worth sacking Arteta just to get rid of that bloke at the same time.

Back in the Wenger days I argued Arsene was a fine (if tactically naive) coach and blamed his demise largely on the deteriorating quality of players at Arsenal.

I haven't seen anything since his departure suggesting otherwise. We were overachieving with Wenger, not underachieving.

I realise we tried to remedy this with the purchases of Partey, Pepe, and Willian, but we probably would have been better off going for Zaha, Partey, and a creative type. That Xhaka is still in the first team line-up after all these years is an abomination.

The fact we are hoping the likes of Saka, Nelson, or Martinelli will bail us out says it all.

Hopefully something will click and Arteta's system will deliver where the past 3 managers have failed, but I would be very surprised if this happens without some of the new faces stepping up and delivering the types of individual performances that won the game today for Spurs in Kane and Son.

one thing i liked about fungus was that he never bought into his own genius, he was always surrounded himself with quality assistants unlike wenger. arteta doesn't seem to know the value in having great assistants.

crystal palace is 11th in the league with 16 points in 11 games. they have scored 17 goals and allowed 16 for a GD of +1.

is their squad more talented than ours? can you even name 5 players on their team without going and looking? do you know who their top goalscorer is this season?

its an absolute fucking embarrassment. im tired of hearing about arteta needing 2 or 3 more transfer windows. there are 12 other managers in the premier league getting more from less, and in some cases, a whole lot fucking less, than what arteta is getting out of us. would he rather have KDB than xhaka? yeah im fucking sure of it. but there is no world in which we should be 15th in the table after 11 games played, having scored 10 fucking goals. even in the most dire wenger years, we still scored goals. sure, we conceded a bunch of calamitous goals that were so painful to watch, but at least you didnt think we'd create 2 fucking scoring chances in 90 minutes.

arteta is a coward. his formation and team selection are cowardly, and the players are not playing for him. gabriel looked heartbroken tonight, because he was storming all over the pitch trying to do absolutely everything he could, and he was basically the only one. this side looks fucking dead in the water. its time to bring in a serious manager. sure, maybe the guy wont wear sneakers and a vneck sweater on the touchline, but i bet he knows where the opposition goal is.

we're a fucking embarrassment and a meme right now. it has to stop.
