Arteta said there is "no truth" when asked about the John Stones rumours, but "no truth for now" when asked about our interest in Frank Kessie. Perhaps there's something in that.

Anyway, what do Serie A viewers think of Kessie?

Hopefully edu isn't just signing washed kia joorabchian clients. As we see more of the ex-players from the late 90s and 2000s move into executive roles, given the role that super agents played in their careers one wonders if they'll have even more influence over the transfer market. Like if just handful of mendes players move into exec roles at the end of their careers, mendes will have even more power

Kessie is decent.

He has a very good work rate and good at harrying/pressing and shutting down players. He is not a pure defensive midfielder or a pass distributor.
What he sucks at is his passing near the opposition box and his shooting.

I feel he can be a very effective player for a manager who utilizes his strengths like Gasperini did at Atalanta when he was very young.

Milan have had no coherency in terms of formations or game plans with so managers coming and going for the past 2-3 years so this has hampered his development.

Mixed reviews then. On the face of it, he does give us some of the qualities we're missing in midfield, but if he's nothing special techncially or tactically then, as you say, it'd have to be a well defined and limited role that he is used in. Perhaps in Torreira's recent position, protecting the defence and little else?

Either way, it sounds like there are much better options out there.

I think he's a good player. I've never understood why he didn't get more of a run at PSG. He's not a brilliant defender, but his technique is superb and he's smart on the ball in attack. He's also a pretty good athlete.

Yeah I think Kurzawa's had bad luck with injuries mostly, I reckon he would have started regularly for both France and PSG otherwise. On one hand I'm not entirely comfortable with having someone with so many fitness question marks as backup to an already injury prone Tierney, but it's not like Kolasinac is particularly fit either. Bloke misses three-four months every single season and he's not even good when he does play most of the time.

If we can get a better player for free or very little money we should do it. Our budget will be badly affected by missing out on Champions League again and I don't reckon we can afford to turn down opportunities like this.

Kurzawa is just coming into his prime, too, so there's reason to hope that his injuries might be behind him. When you look through, it's not all that bad anyway. The herniated disc is the one that kept him out longest, but that was 18 months ago and there's nothing of note since.

If the guy puts it all together, both in terms of overcoming the niggling injuries that have hampered him and a maturing of his attitide, which has been questioned over the years, he could have 4 or 5 very good years in him.

I think a good coach could get a very high level out of him.

PSG fans are happy to get rid of him and some call him an absolute liability defensively. I don't watch much PSG, but it's usually not a good sign.

He's a better defender than Kolasinac, in my opinion, and a lot better at everything esle.

Meh, I'd take an attacking full back over a defensive one any day. But is he good enough going forward to make up for it?

He can cross, pass and just run in general with his head up, so he's automatically better than Kolasinac.

We have injury issues with our two existing left backs. So how do we solve that? Get an injury prone left back, of course. I swear, we’ll have 3 left backs in the treatment room next month

It's almost as if we're shopping like a club that is looking at a 4th year outside Champions League.

Don't know a whole lot about Kurzawa but certainly concerns over his injury record we already have too many players dealing with these issues. Also is difficult not to look past how good can be be if he's barely played for PSG and the fact it looks like another potential contacts books transfer which hasn't been working out to well for us.
