I would not be confident in loaning him to a club that has Pukki. Pukki is much better than Bamford even if he's scored less lately. Villa could work because of Wesley's injury, but we better be sure he gets minutes wherever we send him. Bristol seems like a good bet to me, they wanted him in the summer and still do.

I think so too Quincy. Give him to Bristol and if he scores a decent tally there then we can maybe loan him to Villa next year instead, provided they stay up.

Difficult one. A relegation battle, especially if he plays a part in either Villa or Norwich staying up, could be the making of him. On the other hand, they could be too terrified to give him the minutes when it really comes down to it, or if he's not immediately performing.

Also, I forgot about Kodja at Villa. He's rubbish, but he is their back-up to Wesley, and would be an obstacle for Nketiah to get past if he went there.

he should either go to a mid-table championship team that is willing to give him 15 games in the 2nd half of the season, or he should stay here and train with our first team and get time off the bench. sending him on loan to play in another system that will be different from ours, with different training methods, only works if hes going to get tons of game time. if we loan him and he plays 6-7 more games the rest of the season, i dont think those 6 games outweigh the experience he'd get training here with the first team and playing 15-20 mins off the bench for us in the premier league/fa cup. we only have 2 central strikers right now anyway, its not like there are 6 guys ahead of him on the depth chart

Don’t misrepresent my philosophies, delicate millionaire. Man must have a chance to fail. How can you fail if you’ve been sitting on the bench at Leeds. That’s why I’m fine with aiming low. MDGoonah41 makes sense when he says send him to a mid table Championship club. If there is nothing to play for, I think he has a heightened chance to start.

In retrospect, Leeds was a bad idea only because Bielsa likes to keep a tight rotation to fully embed his philosophies, and the better they did the riskier it probably became to integrate Eddie.

Bros, how many Arsenal players have gone on loan and come back to make themselves solid regulars in the first team in the past decade or two? Very few. If we are going to face the truth, we have to accept that the probability that Eddie comes back and is deemed good enough for anything other than a bench role (even if we sell Lacazette which I doubt) is very slim.

Fail fast. He needs to play at this point in his career. If he’s that highly rated throw in a buy back clause or whatever, but I’d let him go.

Gnabry famously failed that test too and look at him now. Statistics has got nothing to do with it. If you think a player is good you think he's good and that should be enough. And the Bennacer affair tells me that this club doesn't have the sense to exercise buyback clauses anyway.

Meh Bennacer is no great shake. Would have just been a blocker to the sort of calibre of midfielder we truly need of we’re to get back to near the top of the game.

I like Eddie, he’s a real livewire. I like Tyreece more though

Interesting discussion on Arseblog. Brexit kicks in end of this month. Impact is after this transfer window we no longer have unfettered access to young European players. So we can’t sign all the Spanish kids who are 16 and too young to sign a professional contract in Spain because England won’t be EU and they won’t have freedom of movement provided by certain Uefa exclusions. Will also probably have trouble with dual citizens from South America like Martinelli and need to lodge exemption requests. Possibly the same for loans in and out (like Nelson to Bundesliga).

Per this article, it appears we have until the end of this summer to bring in all the Barcelona youngsters we want to get our hands on. After that we need to apply for a work permit. Says nothing about the dual citizens like Martinelli who I think are the bigger issue given Edu’s contacts.

It could be part of the reason we've shifted our focus to Brazil already.

Interesting to see if there ends up being more young commonwealth players in the league, especially from African nations as they'd have the most talent.

I think they'll find a way to resolve it because the premiership is big business and when they want something the government bend over backwards to accommodate them. Also football is escapism for lots of people so if the government is perceived to have negatively interfered with that that has political impacts.
